Major works this winter
Works continue on some of the state’s biggest transport projects. Critical maintenance works will also take place on our rail, tram and road networks to ensure services continue to run reliably.
There’ll be disruptions to the public transport and road networks while these works take place. Be sure to plan ahead and allow extra time or take an alternative route if possible.
Metro Trains
Belgrave and Lilydale Lines
- Buses replace trains between Blackburn and Belgrave/Lilydale stations from 8.30pm Friday 9 June to last service Sunday 11 June.
Cranbourne and Pakenham Lines
- Cranbourne and Pakenham line trains run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop from 9pm to last service each night on Wednesday 7 June and Thursday 8 June.
- Buses replace trains between Richmond (Burnley) and Oakleigh from 8.30pm Friday 9 June to 4am Sunday 11 June.
- Buses replace Cranbourne and Pakenham line trains between Richmond (Burnley) and Caulfield from 4am to last service on Sunday 11 June.
- Buses replace trains between Richmond (Burnley) and Oakleigh from 9pm to last service each night from Monday 12 June to Wednesday 14 June.
- Cranbourne and Pakenham line trains run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop from 9pm to last service on Thursday 15 June.
- Buses replace Cranbourne and Pakenham line trains between Richmond (Burnley) and Westall from 9pm Friday 16 June to last service Sunday 18 June.
Frankston Line
- Express trains along the Frankston Line will be replaced with trains stopping all stations, from Monday 12 December 2022 to mid-2023.
- Buses replace Frankston Line trains between Caulfield and Moorabbin stations from 3am Saturday 3 June to 9pm Friday 9 June.
- Buses replace trains between Flinders Street (Arts Centre) and Moorabbin from 9pm Friday 9 June to last service Sunday 11 June.
- Buses replace Frankston Line trains between Caulfield and Moorabbin stations from first service to 9pm each day from Monday 12 June to Wednesday 14 June.
- Buses replace trains between Flinders Street (Arts Centre) and Moorabbin from 9pm to last service each night from Monday 12 June to Wednesday 14 June.
- Buses replace Frankston Line trains between Caulfield and Moorabbin stations from first service Thursday 15 June to 8.30pm Friday 16 June.
- Buses replace trains between Flinders Street (Arts Centre) and Moorabbin from 8.30pm Friday 16 June to 9pm Sunday 18 June.
- Buses replace trains between Flinders Street (Arts Centre) and Frankston from 9pm to last service on Sunday 18 June.
Hurstbridge and Mernda Lines
- Hurstbridge and Mernda line trains will run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop from 9pm to last service each night, Sunday 4 June to Thursday 8 June.
- Hurstbridge and Mernda line trains will run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop from 9pm to last service each night, Wednesday 14 June to Thursday 15 June.
- Hurstbridge and Mernda line trains will run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop from 9pm Friday 16 June to last service Sunday 18 June.
Lilydale Line
- Buses replace Lilydale Line trains between Ringwood and Lilydale from 8.30pm Tuesday 6 June to last service Sunday 11 June.
Pakenham Line
- Buses replace trains on the Pakenham Line between Berwick and Pakenham from Thursday 8 June to last service Wednesday 21 June.
- Buses replace trains between Dandenong and Pakenham from 9pm to last service each night from Sunday 11 June to Tuesday 13 June.
Sandringham Line
- Buses replace trains between Parliament and Sandringham stations from 8.30pm Friday 9 June to last service Sunday 11 June.
- Buses replace trains between Flinders Street (Arts Centre) and Elsternwick stations from 8.30pm Friday 16 June to 3am Saturday 17 June.
- Buses replace trains between Flinders Street (Arts Centre) and Elsternwick stations from 8.30pm to last service Sunday 18 June.
Stony Point Line
- From Monday 12 December 2022 to mid-2023, there will be minor connection wait time increases between the Frankston and Stony Point lines.
- Buses replace trains on the Stony Point Line between Frankston and Stony Point from 8.30pm Friday 2 June to early August.
Yarra Trams
Routes 19, 57 and 59
- Route 19, 57 and 59 trams will be affected by service changes from 8pm to last tram on select dates between Monday 27 February to Thursday 21 September.
Route 67
- Buses replace trams on Route 67 between Stop 53 Glenhuntly Tram Depot and Carnegie terminus from 9pm Friday 5 May to mid-July.
V/Line
Bairnsdale and Traralgon Lines
- Coaches replace Traralgon and Bairnsdale line trains for the entire journey from the evening of Friday 2 June to last service Sunday 25 June.
Ballarat Line
- Coaches replace evening trains on the Ballarat Line for the entire journey from Friday 16 June and Saturday 17 June.
Geelong Line
- Coaches replace evening trains on the Geelong Line from Sunday 11 June to Tuesday 13 June and on Friday 16 June and Saturday 17 June.
