When travelling on public transport you must wear a fitted face mask covering your nose and mouth and ensure you wear it for your entire journey.
Major works this autumn
As part of Victoria’s Big Build, major works continue in March, April and May to remove 20 dangerous and congested level crossings. Works on the Metro Tunnel, Sunbury Line Upgrade and Regional Rail Revival projects will also progress, as well as critical maintenance on our tram network.
There will be disruptions to the public transport and road networks while these works take place. Be sure to plan ahead and allow extra time.
Metro Trains
Alamein, Belgrave and Lilydale lines
- Buses replace trains between Burnley and Box Hill/Alamein stations from 8.50pm Friday 30 April to last train Sunday 2 May, while infrastructure renewal works take place.
Belgrave and Lilydale lines
- Buses replace trains between Parliament and Camberwell stations on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines from 8.30pm to last train each night from Monday 26 April to Wednesday 28 April, due to works.
Frankston Line
- Trains run direct to and from Caulfield Station on the Frankston Line from 10am to 7.15pm on Saturday 24 April, due to works.
- Trains run direct to and from Caulfield Station on the Frankston Line from 10am to 7.15pm each day on Saturday 1 May and Sunday 2 May, due to works.
Glen Waverley Line
- Buses replace trains between Richmond and Glen Waverley stations from 8.10pm to last train each night from Monday 26 April to Wednesday 28 April, due to works.
Hurstbridge and Mernda lines
- Trains on the Hurstbridge and Mernda lines will run direct to and from Flinders Street Station, not via the City Loop on Saturday 1 May and Sunday 2 May, due to infrastructure renewal works.
Mernda Line
- Buses replace trains between Epping and Mernda from 8.50pm to last train each night Sunday 18 April to Thursday 22 April, due to works.
- Buses replace trains between Epping and Mernda from 8.50pm to last train each night Monday 26 April to Thursday 29 April, due to works.
Werribee Line
- Buses replace trains between Newport, Laverton and Werribee from 8.30pm Thursday 29 April to last service Thursday 6 May, due to works.
V/Line
Ararat, Ballarat and Maryborough lines
- Coaches will replace trains on the Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough lines for the entire journey from Tuesday 27 April to Friday 7 May, due to maintenance works.
Bairnsdale and Traralgon lines
- Select Bairnsdale and Traralgon train services to Southern Cross may experience minor delays on Saturday 24 April, due to metro track works.
Bendigo Line
- Coaches replace select evening trains on the Bendigo line for the entire journey from Sunday 25 April to Tuesday 27 April, due to maintenance works.
Geelong and Warrnambool lines
- Coaches replace select trains on the Geelong Line for the entire journey from Monday 19 April to Sunday 16 May, due to works.
- Temporary speed restrictions will be in place on the Warrnambool Line from Monday 19 April to Sunday 16 May, due to recent track maintenance.
- Coaches replace select evening trains on the Geelong Line while works take place from Friday 30 April to Thursday 6 May.
