When travelling on public transport you must wear a fitted face mask covering your nose and mouth and ensure you wear it for your entire journey.
Major works this winter
As part of Victoria’s Big Build, major works will continue in June, July and August to remove more than 20 dangerous and congested level crossings, including the Ferguson Street level crossing in Williamstown. The Metro Tunnel, Sunbury Line Upgrade and Regional Rail Revival projects on the Geelong, Warrnambool, Bendigo, Echuca and Swan Hill lines will also progress.
Critical maintenance works will also take place on our rail and tram networks to ensure services continue to run reliably. There’ll be disruptions to the public transport and road networks while these works take place. Be sure to plan ahead and allow extra time.
Metro Trains
Belgrave and Lilydale Lines
- Buses replace trains between Parliament and Burnley stations from 9pm to last train each night from Sunday 1 August to Wednesday 4 August, while infrastructure works take place.
Belgrave, Glen Waverley and Lilydale Lines
- Trains on the Belgrave, Glen Waverley and Lilydale lines will run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop, from 9pm to last train each night from Sunday 8 August to Wednesday 11 August, due to infrastructure works.
Craigieburn and Werribee Lines
- Craigieburn and Werribee trains run direct to and from Southern Cross from 9pm to last train each night from Sunday 8 August to Wednesday 11 August, due to works.
Craigieburn, Sunbury and Upfield Lines
- Craigieburn, Sunbury and Upfield line trains run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop, from 9pm to last train each night from Sunday 1 August to Wednesday 4 August.
Cranbourne and Pakenham Lines
- Trains on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines will only run to/from Caulfield Station from 9pm to last train each night from Sunday 1 August to Wednesday 4 August, due to works.
- Trains on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines will only run to/from Caulfield Station from 1.30am Saturday 7 August to last train Sunday 8 August, due to works.
Frankston Line
- Buses replace trains between Mordialloc and Frankston stations from Thursday 29 July to last service Sunday 1 August, due to works.
- Buses replace trains between Mordialloc and Frankston stations 9pm to last service each night, Monday 2 August to Thursday 5 August, due to works.
Glen Waverley Line
- Buses replace Glen Waverley line trains between Richmond and Darling stations from 8.40pm to last train from Sunday 1 August to Wednesday 4 August, while infrastructure works take place.
Lilydale Line
- Buses replace trains between Ringwood and Lilydale stations from 8.30pm Friday 6 August to last service Sunday 8 August, due to level crossing removal works.
- Mooroolbark station is closed from 8.30pm Friday 16 July to Sunday 24 October 2021 to allow for the construction of the new rail bridge and station. Further car park and station changes are in place until early 2022.
- Buses replace trains between Ringwood/Croydon and Lilydale at select times from Monday 19 July to Friday 30 September, due to level crossing removal works.
Pakenham Line
- Buses replace Pakenham trains between Dandenong and Pakenham from 10.30pm to 4.30am, on Wednesday 4 August and Thursday 5 August, due to works.
- Buses replace Pakenham trains between Dandenong and Pakenham from 10.30pm to 4.30am to last train each night on Friday 6 August and Saturday 7 August, due to works.
Stony Point Line
- Buses replace trains between Frankston and Stony Point stations from 9pm Sunday 25 July to last service Sunday 1 August, due to works.
Sunbury Line
- Buses replace Sunbury line trains between North Melbourne and Sunshine stations from 8.45pm to last train each night from Sunday 8 August to Wednesday 11 August, due to works.
Upfield Line
- Buses replace trains between North Melbourne and Upfield stations from 8.35pm to last train each night from Sunday 1 August to Wednesday 4 August, due to infrastructure works.
- Buses replace trains between North Melbourne and Upfield stations from 8.45pm to last train each night from Sunday 8 August to Wednesday 11 August, due to infrastructure works.
Werribee Line
- Buses replace trains between Newport and Werribee from 8.30pm Friday 30 July to last service Sunday 1 August, due to level crossing removal works
Williamstown Line
- Buses replace trains between Newport and Williamstown stations from 8.30pm to last service on Monday 2 August, due to level crossing removal works.
- North Williamstown Station is closed from 8.30pm Monday 2 August to last service Friday 12 November to allow for project works.
