Wednesbury Tram works
Beginning from this Easter, Midland Metro Alliance (MMA) will be working to install infrastructure in the Wednesbury area to tie in the existing Metro line to new tracks for the new tram route to Dudley.
There will be a short period changes to the tram service for Metro passengers, with Metro services affected from Saturday 23rd March for approximately 8 weeks until after the Bank Holiday.
Saturday 23 March to Monday 25 March 2024 (inclusive)
- Trams will operate up to every 10 minutes between Wolverhampton Station and Wednesbury Parkway only
- There will be no services between Wednesbury Parkway and Edgbaston Village
Between 25 March to 5 April
- Priestfield Park and Ride will be closed for essential maintenance.
Tuesday 26 March until Tuesday 9 April (inclusive)
- Trams will operate up to every 10 minutes between Wolverhampton Station and Wednesbury Great Western Street
- There will be no services between Wednesbury Great Western Street and Edgbaston Village
During the above closure, Metro tickets and passes will be valid on the following National Express (NX) bus services and West Midlands Rail services.
- Service 79* between Wednesbury bus station and West Bromwich
- Service 74* between West Bromwich and Birmingham City Centre
- Service 47 between Wednesbury bus station and West Bromwich
- Service 101 between Handsworth and Colmore Row, Birmingham City Centre
- Service 80 between West Bromwich and Five Ways, Birmingham
- All services between Colmore Row and Edgbaston Village tram stop
- Metro season tickets will also be accepted on West Midlands Railway train services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham
