Vaisakhi, the Harvest Festival celebrated by the Sikh community, is set to take place on Sunday 19th May 2024 in Birmingham and Sandwell.
The procession is scheduled to start at Babe Ke Gurdwara in Hockley at 10:00 and end between 14:15 to 14:30 in front of Baba Sang Gurdwara.
Those participating in the walk will proceed via the following route:
- 10:00, Start: Baba Ke Gurdwara, Hockley
- 10:20, First stop: Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha Gurdwara, Soho Road
- 11:00, Second stop: Shri Guru Ravi Dass Bhawan (Soho Road/Grove Lane junction)
- 11:40, Third stop: Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed, Soho Road
- 13:15, Fourth stop: Guru Nanak Gurdwara, High Street Smethwick
- 14:30, Finish: Baba Sang Gurdwara, St Paul’s Road, Smethwick
Birmingham Vaisakhi Parade
On Sunday 19th May, from 9.15am until around 12.30pm, Soho Road will be closed between Great Hampton Street and Booth Street for the Vaisakhi Parade to take place. During this time, services 11A, 11C, 16, 74 & 101 will be diverted.
Sandwell Vaisakhi Parade
On Sunday 19th May, from 9am until around 3pm, High Street, Rolfe Street, and Tollhouse Way will be closed for the Vaisakhi Parade to take place. During this time, services 54, 80, 87 & 89 will be diverted.
