Planning your trip with Moovit means never having to see that look of disappointment again. You know the one… from your boss when you are late for the morning meeting for the third day in a row, or worse, from the dreaded mother-in-law when they had to start her special birthday dinner without you.
Transit can be fickle, so it’s always useful to check your trip before you set off, even if it’s the same journey you always take. With options to personalize your journey, you can even put in the time you need to get there so you never have to see that look of disappointment again.
Plan a journey in 2 ways:
Get directions to a destination address or Point of Interest (POI)
Find a specific line and arrival stop
Either way you choose, start with the search bar at the top of the Home screen
When you want step-by-step directions
Type in and select the address or place you want to go
Next you can select several options if you like.
You can change your starting location where it says “Current location” and you can switch the start and end points of your trip by tapping on the double arrows
Choose to leave “Now” or select a specific time to depart or arrive
Set your travel preferences where you see “Best Route”
Choose which transit types to include or exclude in your trip plan
Moovit sorts through all possible ways to get where you’re going and gives you the best choices based on your trip preferences.
Simply choose your preferred route and you’ll see the full Directions view below. Below the map you’ll see the start & end time for your trip, and you can check earlier and later itineraries. If you’re ready to go, tap the play button to get GPS style Live Directions that update as you travel.
2) When you know your line and last stop
After tapping the search bar on the Home screen, choose “Lines” under the search bar. Then either search or scroll to find your line.
You’ll see the full schedule for the line. Directly under the map, make sure you’re line is going in the right direction. If not, the double arrows will change it. Tapping on the stations shows you Real Time Arrival info (where available) and also allows you to tap on the 3 dots to submit a report or add the line as a favorite.
For a carefree ride, tap the play button, select your final stop, and let Moovit send you a notification to remind you when your stop is approaching.
At Moovit, we believe riding is better together, so if you have a friend that could benefit from a smoother journey on public transit, share this with them and let them buy you a coffee for the countless minutes you’ll save them throughout the year. Smooth travels!
