Whether you’re heading to the Freedom Trail, a fireworks show, or a barbecue, the T can take you there.
Service Changes
To accommodate increased ridership throughout the holiday weekend, the MBTA will run modified service on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
Saturday, July 3
The RIDE will run on a Saturday schedule.
Bus will run on a Saturday schedule.
Commuter Rail and Ferry will run on a weekend schedule.
Subway will run with increased service starting at 10 AM.
Sunday, July 4
Service Changes
Bus and the RIDE will run on a Sunday schedule.
Subway will run with increased service starting at 10 AM.
Commuter Rail and Ferry will run on a weekend schedule.
All Commuter Rail lines will hold the last outbound train for 30 minutes except the Fairmont train, which will depart South Station at 11:20 PM, and Kingston train, which will depart South Station at 11:30 PM.
Fares
Fares will not be collected after 9:30 PM on all modes.
Station Closures
In the interest of public safety, Park Street and Boylston stations will close at 8 PM.
- Nearby Green Line service is available at Government Center or Arlington
- Nearby Red Line service is available at Downtown Crossing or South Station
Street Closures
The City of Boston will be closing some streets near the Boston Common.
Monday, July 5
Subway and Commuter Rail will run on a Saturday schedule
Bus and the RIDE will run on a Sunday schedule.
Ferry will run on a weekday schedule.
4th of July Events
Boston Harborfest
July 1 – 4
Kick off Independence Day weekend with musicians, historic re-enactors, and puppeteers at Boston Harborfest.
Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular
July 4
10:30 PM – 11 PM
The Boston Pops July 4th Spectacular has temporarily relocated to Tanglewood. The show will be livestreamed and televised.
Fireworks will be visible over the Boston Common from the corner of Charles Street and Beacon Street.
