Holiday Service Schedules
MBTA routes operate on weekend schedules for most major federal and state holidays.
Upcoming Holidays
Christmas Eve (Thursday Dec 24, 2020
All modes will run on their current weekday schedules.
Please note:
- Hingham/Hull Ferry is running reduced weekday service
- Commuter Rail is running reduced weekday service due to low employee availability
Christmas Day (Friday Dec 25, 2020)
No ferry service.
All other modes will run on a Sunday schedule.
New Year’s Eve (Thursday Dec 31, 2020)
All modes will run on their current weekday schedules.
Please note:
- Hingham/Hull Ferry is running reduced weekday service

New Year’s Day (Friday January 1, 2021)
No ferry service.
All other modes will run on a Sunday schedule.
Please note:
- Holidays that do not have modified service are not listed above. This includes Patriots’ Day, Columbus Day, and Veterans’ Day. All services will operate on a regular schedule on the day that the holiday is observed.
- Some routes do not operate on weekends, and they will not be in service if the route is operating on a weekend schedule.
