Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- From 11 October, COVID Safe capacity on public transport will increase to around 50 percent. Services will be running to a dynamic weekday timetable. Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, rideshare and hire cars across NSW. Please consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking, cycling and driving if possible.
Metro
Monday 18 to Thursday 21 and Sunday 24 October
- Nightly from 9pm until 1am, buses replace metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood.
City Circle
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October
- Trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Town Hall.
T1 North Shore Line
Monday 18 to Thursday 21 October
- Nightly from 9.50pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Berowra and Hornsby.
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October
- Trains run between Berowra and Wynyard only.
T1 Western Line
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October
- Trains run between Emu Plains or Penrith and Central, platforms 1-12 only.
- Richmond trains run between Richmond and Olympic Park only.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October
- Buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
T3 Bankstown Line
Monday 18 to Thursday 21 October
- Nightly from 10.20pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Bankstown and Sydenham.
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October
- Buses replace trains between Cabramatta, Lidcombe and Sydenham via Bankstown.
- On Sunday from 12.50am until 4.40am, buses also replace trains between Sydenham and Central.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Monday 18 to Thursday 21 October
- Nightly from 10.20pm until 1.30am, some trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October
- All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
- On Sunday from 12.50am until 4.40am, buses replace most trains between Hurstville and Central.
T5 Cumberland Line
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October
- Buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
T7 Olympic Park Line
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October
- Extra trains run between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, then continue to Schofields or Richmond.
T8 Airport & South Line
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October
- Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
T9 Northern Line
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October
- Trains run between Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, via Strathfield only.
Central Coast & Newcastle Line
Monday 18 to Thursday 21 October
- Nightly from 9.50pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Gosford.
Saturday 23 October
- From 7am until 10am, at Hawkesbury River, trains towards Central leave from platform 2, not platform 1.
- From 11am until 1.50pm, at Cowan, trains towards Central leave from platform 2, not platform 1.
Sunday 24 October
- From 7am until 10am, at Hawkesbury River, trains towards Gosford leave from platform 1, not platform 2.
- From 11am until 1.50pm, at Cowan, trains towards Gosford leave from platform 1, not platform 2.
Hunter Line

- From 6pm until 3.45am, buses replace trains between Telarah and Newcastle Interchange.
South Coast Line

- From 8am until 4pm, at Stanwell Park, trains towards Central leave from platform 2, not platform 1.

- From 12.50am until 4.40am, buses replace trains from Hurstville to Central.
