Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- From 11 October, COVID Safe capacity on public transport will increase to around 50 percent. Services will be running to a dynamic weekday timetable. Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, rideshare and hire cars across NSW. Please consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking, cycling and driving if possible.
Metro
Monday 11 to Thursday 14 and Sunday 17 October
- Nightly from 9pm until 1am, buses replace metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood.
T1 North Shore Line
Monday 11 to Thursday 14 October
- Nightly from 9.40pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Central.
T1 Western Line
Monday 11 to Thursday 14 October
- Nightly from 9.40pm until 2am, trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line.
Saturday 16 October
- From 5.30am until 8.45am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Blacktown.
- From 8.45am until 11am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Schofields.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Monday 11 to Thursday 14 October
- Nightly from 9.40pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield. Some buses continue to Granville, in that direction only.
Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October
- Extra trains run between Ashfield and Kingsgrove via the City Circle and Airport.
T3 Bankstown Line
Monday 11 to Thursday 14 October
- Nightly from 9.40pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Liverpool and Villawood.
Friday 15 October
- From 10.20pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Bankstown and Sydenham.
Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October
- Buses replace trains between Cabramatta, Lidcombe and Sydenham via Bankstown.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Friday 15 October
- From 10.20pm until 2am, some trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October
- All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
T5 Cumberland Line
Monday 11 to Thursday 14 October
- Nightly from 9.40pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield. Some buses continue to Granville, in that direction only.
Saturday 16 October
- From 5.30am until 8.45am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Blacktown.
- From 8.45am until 11am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Schofields.
T8 Airport & South Line
Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October

Blue Mountains Line
Friday 15 to Sunday 17 October
- From 11pm Friday, trains run between Lithgow or Mount Victoria and Strathfield only. Change at Strathfield to continue your journey.
Central Coast & Newcastle Line
Friday 15 October
- From 11pm until 2am, trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and the City Circle, leaving from platforms 17/18.
Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October
- Trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and North Sydney via Strathfield.
- From 7.30pm Saturday until 7am Sunday, most trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only. Change at Strathfield to continue your journey.
Hunter Line
Wednesday 13 October
- Buses replace selected trains between Maitland and Muswellbrook.
South Coast Line
Friday 15 October
- From 11pm until 2am, trains run between South Coast Line stations and Bondi Junction.
Saturday 16 October
- From 8am until 12pm, at Bulli, Woonoona, Bellambi and Corrimal, trains towards Wollongong leave from platform 1, not platform 2.
- From 12.30pm until 4.30pm, at Towradgi, Fairy Meadow and North Wollongong, trains towards Wollongong leave from platform 1, not platform 2.
