The Government has extended half-price fares until 30 June 2023. In addition to half-price fares, some bus, train, and ferry fares started to increase on 2 April 2023.
Discounted travel services
Between 1 April 2022 and 30 June 2023, a 50% discount will apply to AT bus, train , and ferry fares as well as the following products:
- HOP cards
- HOP monthly passes
- Daily fare cap
- All AT concessions and the Total Mobility Scheme
- Paper tickets
*50% offer applies to AT timetabled bus, train and ferry services, excludes Waiheke and tourist ferry tickets (Rakino, Rangitoto etc). Payment is by AT HOP card or cash tickets bought at AT HOP ticket terminals. $5 AT HOP card purchase is for a limited time and does not apply to the purchase of pre-loaded cards.
Fare changes
Some of the bus, train, and ferry fares will be increasing between 4 cents and 40 cents.
- AT’s Zone 1, 2, and 3 fares will increase by up to 7.8%.
- Zone 4 and 5 fares will increase by 3.1% to 5.6%.
- Zones 6, 7, 8, and 9 there will be no fare increase.
Fares are still the same after 5 zones, maintain the off-peak travel discount of 10% and you can still enjoy 50%* off fares until 30 June 2023.
