ANZAC Day - Public Transport Updates

    There are additional bus, ferry and train services for dawn services on ANZAC Day. Please use Moovit’s trip planner to see available lines and check alternative routes in case of closures or detours.

    Public Transport Changes


    Additional NX1 services from Albany Station to Park Road, Grafton will depart at 04:30 am, 04:45 am, 05:00 am and 05:10 am.


    Ferry services will be operating to a Sunday and Public Holiday timetable. Fullers 360 Waiheke and Devonport will participate in this initiative. There will be one additional Devonport to Downtown Ferry at 05:00 am.


    Trains will run to their Sunday timetable. There will be additional early morning train services to Britomart on all lines.

    Buses replace trains between Britomart and Newmarket on the Southern, Western, and Onehunga Lines after 22:30.

    Due to the Rail Network Rebuild, buses replace trains between Britomart and Otahuhu on the Eastern Line.

    Free Travel

    Free travel on bus, train, ferry and AT Local services all day on Tuesday 25 April for:

    • SuperGold and Veterans SuperGold cardholders
    • Uniformed and retired services personnel with RSA membership card

    To redeem free travel on ANZAC Day, please show your SuperGold, Veterans SuperGold or RSA membership card to gateline staff, ferry crew or bus drivers on the day.
