A full return of public transportation is imminent

In accordance with the gradual return to full service of the public transportation in Israel, we have collected the main updates you should know.

🚍 Urban and inter-urban bus service

Starting Thursday, May 28th, the passenger capacity in inter-urban bus lines will be increased from 23 to 46.

In urban bus lines, the passenger capacity will be increased from 20 to 49 and in minibuses, it will stand on 75%.

🚆 Israel Railways

Israel Railways is expected to return to full service on Monday, June 8th. Schedules and stations will be updated in Moovit close to the date.

🚕 Taxis and Moniot Sherut

Starting Thursday, May 28th, taxis will be allowed to take up to two passengers in the back seat.

In Moniot Sherut, the passenger capacity will stand on 75%.

Updates guidelines regarding the use of public transportation

  1. Payment is accepted by ‘Rav Kav’ card only. Make sure to charge your card in advance.
  2. Front rows in buses will continue to be taped off to prevent passengers occupying the seats.
  3. Passengers are required to wear a mask during all rides.
  4. Standing in inter-urban buses is not allowed

Compensation for passengers who purchased a monthly ticket prior to COVID-19

Passengers who purchased a monthly ticket and weren’t able to use it due to COVID-19 restrictions on public transportation could choose their compensation from the following options: 1) A free half-monthly ticket, 2) A price reduction of 50% when buying a new monthly ticket, or 3) Charging their card with a 25% of the contract they previously had in Accumulated value.
