The BMTC has proposed a fleet of 25 pink Sarathi vehicles
This fleet will ply on the roads of Karnataka’s state capital to address the concerns of female commuters using BMTC’s bus services.
These vehicles will be operational in a week will be procured under the Central government’s Nirbhaya scheme.
A four-digit helpline will also be launching for passengers to register their complaints with the transport corporation.
The helpline will then contact the nearest Sarathi team which along with city police officials will rush to the complainant’s location.
In addition, the Sarathi teams will also monitor movement at bus stops across Bengaluru ensuring that drivers stop at the designated spots.
