This week will see planned maintenance activities impacting both Green Line and Blue Line train services, as well as several bus routes. Please be aware of these disruptions and plan your trips accordingly.
Green Line:
- Friday, March 22nd – Saturday, March 23rd (9am Friday – 2am Saturday):
- Harlem-bound trains will bypass the 35th-Bronzeville-IIT station.
- Passengers seeking Harlem-bound service from this station should:
- Take an Ashland/63rd-Cottage Grove-bound train to Indiana Station.
- Transfer to a Harlem-bound train at Indiana Station.
- Passengers seeking Harlem-bound service to this station should:
- Take a Harlem-bound train to Cermak-McCormick Place Station.
- Transfer to an Ashland/63rd-Cottage Grove-bound train at Cermak-McCormick Place.
- Reason for disruption: Track maintenance at the 35th-Bronzeville-IIT station.
Blue Line:
- Monday, March 18th – Tuesday, March 19th (11pm – 4am next day):
- Boarding changes and minor delays anticipated between Grand and LaSalle stations.
- Passengers at Clark/Lake, Washington, Monroe, and Jackson stations should board/exit trains on the O’Hare-bound side of the platform.
- Trains in both directions will operate on a single track between Grand and LaSalle, causing slight delays.
- Reason for disruption: Track maintenance to ensure continued safe operation of Blue Line trains.
- Wednesday, March 20th – Saturday, March 23rd (10pm – variable end times):
- Boarding changes and minor delays anticipated between Jefferson Park and Cumberland stations.
- Specific boarding platform changes will vary by night. Please consult the detailed schedule below:
- Wednesday, March 20th (10pm Wed – 4am Thu): Board/exit trains on Forest Park-bound side of platform at Harlem (O’Hare branch) station.
- Thursday, March 21st (10pm Thu – 4am Fri): Board/exit trains on O’Hare-bound side of platform at Harlem (O’Hare branch) station.
- Friday, March 22nd (10pm Fri – 5am Sat): Board/exit trains on Forest Park-bound side of platform at Harlem (O’Hare branch) station.
- Saturday, March 23rd (10pm Sat – 6am Sun): Board/exit trains on O’Hare-bound side of platform at Harlem (O’Hare branch) station.
- Trains in both directions will operate on a single track between Jefferson Park and Cumberland, causing slight delays.
- Reason for disruption: Reconstruction of the Harlem Blue Line station’s bus bridge over the Kennedy Expressway.
Bus Route Updates:
- #22 Clark (Temporary Reroute): Wednesday, March 20th (9am – 5pm) – Southbound buses will detour via Clark and Racine before resuming their normal route on Addison.
- #50 Damen (Temporary Reroute): Monday, March 18th – Friday, March 22nd (9pm – 6am next day) – Buses will operate in both directions via Damen, Madison, Ashland, Grand, and Damen.
- #63 63rd (Temporary Reroute): Thursday, March 14th (9am) – Friday, March 22nd (5pm) – Reroute due to construction on 63rd at Harper.
- #66 Chicago Bus Stop Change: Effective Tuesday, March 19th (9am) – Eastbound bus stop on southwest corner of Chicago/Mayfield will be eliminated. A new eastbound stop will be added on the southeast corner.
- #156 LaSalle (Temporary Reroute): Tuesday, March 19th (9:30am – 2:30pm) – Reroute due to maintenance on LaSalle Street Bridge.
