Public Transport Service Updates: Dublin & Greater Ireland
Several planned engineering works and localised route alterations are scheduled across the public transport network. Passengers are advised to review the following updates before travelling.
🚄 Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail)
Significant infrastructure and signaling modernization works are scheduled for this weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
Dublin Heuston to Cork Route: Due to essential signaling and tunnel maintenance between Mallow and Cork, all Dublin-to-Cork rail services will terminate at Mallow. Bus transfers will operate between Mallow and Cork in both directions. Passengers should expect revised arrival and departure times.
Cork Commuter Lines: Local rail services between Cork and Cobh, as well as Cork and Midleton, will be fully suspended. A dedicated replacement bus service will be in operation for the duration of the weekend.
Portarlington to Athlone Route: Ballast cleaning works from Saturday evening through Sunday morning will cause minor schedule revisions for services operating between Dublin and Galway/Westport.
🚌 Dublin Bus & Regional Services
City Centre & Suburban Diversions: Ongoing roadworks have necessitated route diversions and temporary stop suspensions for multiple lines, including Routes 6, 14, 15, 27, 42, 43, and the H-Series.
Temporary Nightly Stop Closures: Be aware of rolling nighttime city centre stop closures due to road maintenance. Specific stops on Werburgh Street, Grand Parade, and near the National Gallery have experienced temporary overnight suspensions.
Concert Events: Increased passenger volume and localized traffic diversions are expected around Malahide and suburban event venues due to weekend concert schedules.
🚋 Luas (Tram Network)
Status: Both the Red and Green Luas lines are scheduled to operate a full, normal weekend service with no major line disruptions.
