It’s Time to Cross: Line 5 Eglinton is Here!

    The wait is over. Rapid transit has arrived on Eglinton Avenue. Starting Sunday, February 8, Line 5 Eglinton (The Crosstown LRT) enters its introductory service phase, connecting Mount Dennis to Kennedy in under an hour.

    🎁 Opening Day Special: FREE RIDES

    On Sunday, February 8, all trips on Line 5 Eglinton only are free of charge. (Note: Regular fares apply to connecting buses and subways. Tap your PRESTO card as usual for transfers!)


    ⏱️ Service Hours & Frequency

    Line 5 is launching with a Phased Opening to ensure reliability. During this initial stage, service will be provided as follows:

    • LRT Train Hours (Mon–Sat & Holidays): 5:30 AM – 11:00 PM

    • LRT Train Hours (Sundays): 7:30 AM – 11:00 PM

    • Late Night Service (Daily, 10 PM – 1:20 AM): Line 5 Shuttle Buses will run every 10 minutes to allow for overnight testing.

    • Overnight (After 1:20 AM): The 334 Eglinton Blue Night bus provides all-night service.

    • Frequency: Trains arrive approximately every 4–5 minutes during peak hours and every 6–10 minutes during off-peak times.


    🚌 Major Surface Route Changes

    The bus network has been redesigned to feed directly into the new LRT stations. Moovit Tip: Check your “Lines” tab for these updated schedules!

    🆕 New Routes

    • 18 Caledonia: Replaces the 47 Lansdowne north of Eglinton (connects at Caledonia Station).

    • 27 Jane South: New service between Jane Station and Eglinton (connects at Mount Dennis Station).

    • 34 Eglinton: A new local bus running parallel to the LRT for local stops between Mount Dennis and Kennedy.

    • 151 Leslie North: Replaces the 51 Leslie service north of Leslie Station.

    • 158 Trethewey: New route replacing the 32C branch (connects at Keelesdale Station).

    🔄 Key Route Adjustments

    • 32 Eglinton West: Now terminates at Mount Dennis Station (formerly went to Eglinton Stn).

    • 35 Jane: Now ends at Mount Dennis Station.

    • 54 Lawrence East: Now diverted to terminate at the new Don Valley Station.

    • 100 Flemingdon Park: Now connects directly to Don Valley Station.
