Hi Mooviters,
LA Metro is reconfiguring C & K line service starting this Sunday, Nov. 3rd
Here is how the C & K lines will look:
If you use the Mariposa, El Segundo, Douglas or Redondo Beach stations, the new Aviation/Century Station will be the transfer point between the C and the K Lines.
To recap, these are the four changes happening:
•The C Line will operate between Norwalk Station and the new Aviation/Century Station. PLEASE NOTE: this is temporary until the LAX/Metro Transit Center station opens soon — at that time, the C Line will run between the LAX/Metro Transit Center Station and Norwalk.
•The K Line will operate between Expo/Crenshaw Station and Westchester/Veterans Station, and between the new Aviation/Century Station and Redondo Beach Station. PLEASE NOTE: this is temporary until the LAX/Metro Transit Center station opens soon — at that time the K Line will run all the way between Expo/Crenshaw and Redondo Beach.
•Aviation/Century is the station to use to transfer between the C and K Lines. PLEASE NOTE: after the LAX/Metro Transit Center opens soon, you will be able to transfer between the C and K Lines at Aviation/Century or LAX/Metro Transit Center.
•The C & K Line Link bus shuttle will continue to connect riders between the C and the K Lines, with a new stop at Aviation/Century Station. PLEASE NOTE: the shuttle will cease operations once the K Line is fully open after the LAX/Metro Transit Center opens.
LA Metro will have plenty of staff at C & K line Station to help riders navigate their transit trips as we make these changes.
Why these changes?
The new C Line and K Line routes willyou, here is why:
•There will be a direct connection to the Aviation/Century Station and the upcoming LAX/Metro Transit Center from all C Line and K Line stations.
•The C Line will become primarily an east-west route while the K Line will be a north-south route. This best mimics regional travel and is more intuitive for riders as the Metro system continues to expand in the coming years —there are plans extend the K Line south to Torrance and north to Hollywood.
