New Year’s Eve & Rose Bowl Service by Agency
Metro
- Metro is offering FREE rides for New Year’s Eve. Free fares on bus and rail will be in effect from:
- Tuesday, Dec. 31, starting at 4 a.m. through Wednesday, Jan. 1, at 3 a.m.
- Metro will also be running A, B, D & E trains all night long on New Year’s Eve. The C and K Lines will run until 2 a.m. So however you plan to celebrate, you’ll be able to get home safely.
- On New Year’s Day, all buses and trains will run on a Sunday/holiday schedule.
- Are you heading to the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day? Metro is adding capacity and additional early morning trains. The A, C, E and K light rail lines will run the usual 10-minute service during the day. The B/D Line subway will run the usual 12-minute daytime service.
- If you’re going to see the parade floats on display at Victory Park in Pasadena, Metro is running shuttle service from Sierra Madre Villa Station to the post parade viewing area from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on January 1.
- On January 2 and January 3, shuttle service from Sierra Madre Villa Station to Victory Park will begin at 6:30 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. Regular fares apply with free transfers available to and from other bus services with your TAP card.
Foothill Transit
- All Foothill Transit rides are FREE on New Year’s Eve! Happy New Year! Bus rides will be completely free from 4 a.m. on December 31 to 2:59 a.m. on January 1.
- Foothill Transit will operate Holiday service on New Year’s Day.
- Take Foothill Transit’s Rose Bowl Shuttle to live Rose Bowl events! The shuttle is a straight shot to the front gates of the Rose Bowl. Park your car at the Parsons parking lot. You can also take Line 187 to Raymond and Walnut to catch the Foothill Transit Rose Bowl shuttle. Look for the line of people — don’t worry about the line, it moves quickly — and in mere minutes you’ll be on your way to the stadium. Shuttles start running from the Parsons parking lot on Pasadena Ave just north of Union St. Times and prices vary by event. For times, please see the events list below.
- January 1, 1 p.m., Rose Bowl Game – Shuttle service starts at 10 a.m. and ends 2 hours after the game ends.
- January 19, 7 a.m., Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K – Shuttle service starts at 4 a.m. and at 1 p.m.
Metrolink Trains
- Metrolink is once again offering special late-night service on its San Bernardino Line to accommodate Countdown NYE festival goers. Specially ticketed trains will depart the San Bernardino-Downtown Station at 3 a.m. on Jan. 1, making stops at Rancho Cucamonga, Montclair, Claremont, Covina and Cal State LA with a final destination of LA Union Station.
- Metrolink, Southern California’s six-county regional passenger rail provider, is offering a convenient and affordable way to travel this holiday season with a $10 Holiday Pass available on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1. To accommodate those attending the 2025 Rose Parade in Pasadena, Metrolink is also bringing back special early morning and afternoon train service on New Year’s Day.
- Special New Year’s Day Service for Rose Parade AttendeesTo provide parade-goers from around the region an alternative to sitting in traffic, navigating blocked-off streets and searching for parking near the parade route, on Jan. 1, Metrolink is adding early-morning trains on the Ventura County, Orange County, and 91/Perris Valley lines, and adjusting service on the Antelope Valley and San Bernardino lines so that trains arrive at LA Union Station between 7 and 7:30 a.m. From there, customers can conveniently transfer for free to the Metro A Line to reach Pasadena. Early afternoon trains have also been added to help event attendees get home following the parade. The full Rose Parade service schedule is available below.Getting to the Rose Parade:
· Antelope Valley Line train 1260 will depart the Lancaster Station at 5:11 a.m., arriving at LA Union Station at 7:20 a.m.
· Orange County Line train 1659 will depart the Oceanside Station at 5:22 a.m., arriving at LA Union Station at 7:25 a.m.
· 91/Perris Valley Line train 1741 will depart the Perris-South Station at 5:08 a.m., arriving at LA Union Station at 7:15 a.m.
· San Bernardino Line train 1351 will depart the San Bernardino-Downtown Station at 5:38 a.m., arriving at LA Union Station at 7:22 a.m.
· Ventura County Line train 198 will depart the Ventura-East Station at 5:10 a.m., arriving at LA Union Station at 7:00 a.m.
Returning from the parade:
· Antelope Valley Line train 1273 will depart LA Union Station at 1:39 p.m., arriving at the Lancaster Station at 3:52 p.m.
· Orange County Line train 1658 will depart LA Union Station at 1 p.m., arriving at the Oceanside Station at 3:03 p.m.
· 91/Perris Valley Line train 1742 will depart LA Union Station at 1:15 p.m., arriving at the Perris-South Station at 3:22 p.m.
· San Bernardino Line train 1358 will depart LA Union Station at 1:38 p.m., arriving at the San Bernardino-Downtown Station at 3:23 p.m.
· Ventura County Line train 199 will depart LA Union Station at 12:49 p.m., arriving at the Ventura-East Station at 2:37 p.m.
Big Blue Bus
- Celebrate New Year’s Eve with a safe, friendly, and FREE ride home! Big Blue Bus customers can ride free beginning Tuesday, December 31 at 9:00 p.m. until Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at 12:00 a.m.
- Big Blue Bus will operate weekend service
LADOT
- LADOT DASH buses are FREE till January 11th.
- LADOT Commuter Express service will not operate on New Year’s Day, with the exception of Route 142.
- Commuter Express 142 will operate on its holiday schedule.
- LADOT DASH service will not operate on New Year’s Day, with the exception of routes:
- DASH Chesterfield Square
- DASH El Sereno/City Terrace
- DASH North Hollywood
- DASH Observatory/Los Feliz
- DASH Panorama City/Van Nuys
- DASH Pico Union/Echo Park

Long Beach Transit
- LBT buses will be FREE on NYE from 5:00 PM till 1:00 AM.
- LBT will extend service on 8 routes servicing downtown Long Beach until approximately 1:00 AM.
- LBT will operate a Holiday Schedule (click for details) on New Year’s Day.
OCTA
- OCTA buses will be FREE on NYE from 6:00 PM till 2:30 AM.
- OCTA will operate Sunday/Holiday service on New Year’s Day.
