    Here’s what’s changing for you between 21 – 27 April 2019


    Bus Services

    There are no planned changes to bus services this week.

    City Line

    There are extensive alterations to services over the bank holiday weekend. Please check with the rail operator that you are planning to travel with:

    Northern Line

    There are no planned engineering works on the Northern Line.

     

    Wirral Line

    Phase 8 of the platform upgrade work continues between West Kirby and Birkenhead North.

    Rail replacement buses will run between West Kirby and Bidston/Birkenhead North from 15 April to 22 April.

    Trains will run from Birkenhead North throughout the work.

    Sunday 7 April – Monday 22 April

    Rail replacement buses will run between West Kirby and Birkenhead North, calling at all stations.

    Passengers can board trains at Birkenhead North to complete their onward journey.

    Please note that from Monday 15 April to Monday 22 April, in addition to the rail replacement bus service, three trains an hour will run between Bidston and Liverpool calling at all stations.

    On Tuesday 23 April a normal train service will run.

    Phase 9 of the platform upgrade work will start on the New Brighton line on 27 April 2019.

    Platform upgrade work will be taking place between New Brighton and Birkenhead North.

    Rail replacement buses will run to all stations between New Brighton and Birkenhead North from Saturday 27 April to Sunday 5 May.

    TfGM Updates


    Important improvement works are taking place on the Bury and Rochdale Metrolink lines over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

    On Saturday 20 April and Sunday 21 April, there will be no services running on the Bury line.

    In addition, no services will run between Exchange Square and Monsall on the Rochdale line.

    On Monday 22 April, there will be no services between Queens Road and Bury on the Bury line.

    The following services will run:

    Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April 2019:

    Manchester Airport services will terminate at Deansgate-Castlefield.
    East Didsbury services will terminate at Exchange Square.
    Services on the Altrincham line will operate Altrincham to Piccadilly.
    Rochdale/Shaw and Crompton services will terminate at Monsall.

    Bus replacement services will run at the same frequency as trams on the following routes:

    Central Park to Deansgate Castlefield
    Bury to Piccadilly

    Monday 22 April 2019:

    No services between Bury and Queens Road.
    Altrincham line services will operate Altrincham to Piccadilly, and Altrincham to Queens Road.
    On Monday, services will run a Saturday service with the majority of last services departing the city centre from approximately midnight.
