๐จ Metrolink: City Centre Track Maintenance (Advance Notice for Sunday 28 June)
While daytime tram routes remain stable this weekend following the resolution of earlier vehicle faults, significant city-centre infrastructure renewals are kicking off.
Upcoming Disruption: Metrolink is investing heavily in track replacements. Please note ahead that on Sunday, 28 June (until 10:00 AM), no trams will run through Victoria Station. Replacement buses will handle the VictoriaโPiccadilly corridor. Keep an eye on your app for rolling line restrictions later this summer on the Altrincham, Eccles, and Trafford Centre lines.
๐ Regional Rail: Transpennine Route Upgrade (Until 26 June)
The Disruption: Ongoing major engineering works for the Transpennine Route Upgrade continue to block select rail corridors.
Impact: Buses replace trains between Huddersfield / Halifax and Leeds (via Dewsbury). Commuters connecting out of Manchester Victoria toward West Yorkshire should expect extended journey times and use alternative multi-modal routing.

๐จ Liverpool Lime Street: Evening Rail Disruptions (Mon 22 June โ Thu 25 June)
Essential late-night engineering works in the Liverpool Lime Street area will close several lines on Monday through Thursday evenings. The following changes apply to final departures:
Blackpool North to Liverpool: The 22:20 service will bypass all stations between Wigan North Western and Liverpool Lime Street (served by a replacement bus).
Wilmslow to Liverpool: The 22:44 service will terminate early at Manchester Oxford Road. A substitution bus will run from Manchester Piccadilly to Liverpool.
Liverpool to Manchester Airport: The 23:00 service will instead start from Manchester Oxford Road at 23:59. A replacement bus links Liverpool Lime Street to the Airport.
Preston & Manchester Victoria services: The 23:22 to Preston and the 23:30 to Manchester Victoria are fully replaced by buses.
๐ Earlestown Area Rail Works (Saturday 20 June Only)
The Impact: Track works will block select lines around Earlestown. Trains arriving from Chester will not call at Earlestown. Trains heading towards Chester remain unaffected. Use alternative valid rail connections inside the hub.
๐ Liverpool City Centre Bus Diversions (Until 18/19 June)
Mount Pleasant Closure: The week-long road closure on Mount Pleasant (between Brownlow Hill and Oxford Street) wraps up at the start of this window. Route 699 and connected university lines return to standard alignments as lanes clear.
Mersey Tunnels: Overnight lane restrictions on the Kingsway (Wallasey) Tunnel conclude early Friday morning, June 19, leaving weekend cross-river road traffic fully clear.
