MetroCard unlimited products are being phased out as OMNY becomes the primary payment method.
When MetroCard is no longer accepted later in 2026, a new OMNY card will cost $2.
Discount programs for seniors, people with disabilities, students, and Paratransit Zero Fare riders remain in place.

Weekly and monthly tickets increase by up to 4.5%.
Other ticket types increase by up to 8%.
CityTicket prices change:
Peak: $7.25

New commuter rail ticket rules
One-way tickets (paper or mobile) are valid until 4:00 a.m. the next day.
Round-trip tickets are replaced by a Day Pass:
Allows unlimited travel for the day
Rules vary between weekdays and weekends
Mobile “pay-as-you-go” discount:
After 10 one-way trips within 14 days, the next one-way trip is free.
Bridges and tunnels
Tolls increase by approximately 7.5% across all bridges and tunnels.
E-ZPass and Tolls by Mail rates are both affected.
Existing resident discount programs for eligible Queens, Bronx, and Staten Island residents remain available.
What this means for Moovit users
If you ride frequently, fare capping may lower your weekly costs compared to paying per ride.
Tap-and-go riders may benefit more than riders using single or paper tickets.
Commuter rail riders should review updated ticket rules before traveling.
