Sydney & NSW - Trackwork Monday 1 to Sunday 7 May 2023

    Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need. 

    • Train replacement buses may be impacted due to bus driver shortages. 
    • Consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking, cycling and driving where possible as there will be limited space on replacement buses.

    Metro

    Monday 1 to Thursday 4 May 

    • Nightly from 9.30pm, metro will run to a reduced frequency between Tallawong and Chatswood. 

    Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May

    • There is no trackwork on the metro but trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line may affect how you travel.

    City Circle

    Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May

    • Trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Museum.

    T1 North Shore Line

    Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May

    • Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Wynyard. 

    T1 Western Line

    Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May

    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Central, platforms 1-12 only making an extra stop at Burwood.
    • Saturday from 11am to 2am, some Penrith trains make an extra stop at Olympic Park.

    T2 Inner West & Leppington Line

    Monday 1, Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 May

    • Nightly from 9pm to 2am, Inner West trains that normally run between the City and Parramatta will run between the City and Homebush only.

    Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May

    • The all-stations Homebush trains will not run.
    • Leppington trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Central, platforms 1-12 via Granville, stopping at all stations between Homebush and Central.

    T3 Bankstown Line

    Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May

    • Buses replace trains between Cabramatta or Lidcombe and Sydenham.

    T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line

    Monday 1 to Thursday 4 May  

    • Nightly from 9.40pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. 

    Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May

    • All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. 

    T8 Airport & South Line

    Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May

    • Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.

    T9 Northern Line

    Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May

    • Trains run between Berowra or Hornsby and Strathfield only.

    Central Coast & Newcastle Line

    Saturday 6 May

    • From 6am to 11am, at Cowan, all trains leave from platform 2. 

    Sunday 7 May

    • From 6am to 11am, at Cowan, all trains leave from platform 1.

    Hunter Line

    Thursday 4 May

    • From 8.45am to 11.15am, buses replace trains between Maitland and Muswellbrook.

    Sunday 7 May

    • From 6.25pm to 10.10pm, buses replace trains between Maitland and Scone. 

    South Coast Line

    Monday 1 to Friday 5 May

    • Buses replace some trains between Wollongong and Kiama.

    Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May

    • Buses replace trains between Port Kembla or Dapto and Wollongong.
    • Sunday from 8am to 4pm, at Otford and Helensburgh, all trains leave from platform 2.

    Southern Highlands Line

    Saturday 6 May

    • From 10am to 4pm, buses replace trains between Campbelltown and Moss Vale.
