Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- The biggest coordinated program of rail maintenance ever undertaken in Sydney has begun in response to te recent recommendations made by the expert panel conducting the Sydney Trains Review for restoring reliability to the network.
- Maintenance work is being prioritized during the existing trackwork windows such as on weekends, weeknights, during school holidays or during weekday diversions when fewer people are catching trains.
- Train replacement buses may be impacted due to bus driver shortages. Consider catching local bus services where possible, or make alternative arrangements.
Metro
Saturday 8 to Monday 10 June
- Trackwork on the T9 Northern Line may affect how you travel.
- Saturday and Sunday, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Epping. Trains run between Epping and the City.
- Monday, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Strathfield. Change at Chatswood for T1 North Shore Line trains to the City.
T1 North Shore Line
Saturday 8 to Monday 10 June
- Buses replace trains between Berowra and Hornsby.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and the City.
- Trackwork on the T9 Northern and Central Coast & Newcastle lines may also affect how you travel.
T1 Western Line
Saturday 8 to Monday 10 June
- Trains may run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Saturday 8 to Monday 10 June
- Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
- Until 2pm Sunday, Inner West trains will not run.
- From 2pm Sunday, Inner West trains run between Homebush and the City Circle stopping at Strathfield, Burwood, Ashfield and Redfern.
- Monday, Inner West trains run between Homebush and T1 North Shore Line stations.
- You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
T3 Bankstown Line
Thursday 6 June
- From 11.50pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Sydenham and Liverpool or Lidcombe.
T5 Cumberland Line
Tuesday 4 June
- From 11.50pm to 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond or Leppington and Olympic Park only. Some trains start and end at Granville.
- You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.
Saturday 8 to Monday 10 June
- Some early morning trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Olympic Park only.
- You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.
T8 Airport & South Line
Saturday 8 to Monday 10 June

T9 Northern Line

- Saturday and Sunday, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Epping.

Blue Mountains Line

- From 11pm, trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and the City Circle.
Saturday 8 to Monday 10 June
- Most trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Change trains at Blacktown to continue your journey.
Central Coast & Newcastle Line
Tuesday 4 and Thursday 6 June
- Nightly from 8.40pm to 2.30am, buses replace trains from Newcastle Interchange to Gosford.
- Nightly from 9.30pm to 3am, buses replace trains from Gosford to Newcastle Interchange.
- Buses do not run to the train timetable. If you are connecting with trains at Gosford you may need to catch an earlier bus to ensure you meet your train connection.
- Trains run between Wyong and Central, some to a changed timetable.
- On Thursday, extra trains will run from Broadmeadow to Newcastle Interchange and Central after the Women’s State of Origin.
Friday 7 June
- From 11.15pm, some trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Central, continuing to North Sydney.
Friday 7 June
- From 11.50pm, at Cowan, all trains leave from platform 2.
Saturday 8 to Monday 10 June
- Buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Hornsby.
- T1 North Shore Line trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and the City.
- Buses also replace trains on the Hunter and T9 Northern lines.
Hunter Line
Saturday 8 to Monday 10 June
- Buses replace trains between Scone, Dungog and Newcastle Interchange.
- Buses also replace trains on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line.
South Coast Line
Thursday 6 June
- From 9.20am to 2.15pm, buses replace trains between Port Kembla and Wollongong.
- Buses towards Wollongong may leave stations up to 15 minutes earlier than the normal train timetable.
Friday 7 June
- From 11.30pm, trains run between South Coast Line stations and Bondi Junction.
Saturday 8 June
- From 7.30am to 11.30am, at Bulli, Woonona, Bellambi and Corrimal, all trains leave from platform 1.
Saturday 8 June
- From 12pm to 4pm, at Corrimal, Bellambi, Woonona and Bulli, all trains leave from platform 2.
Sunday 9 June
- From 7.30am to 11.30am, at Towradgi, Fairy Meadow and North Wollongong all trains leave from platform 1.
