Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- The biggest coordinated program of rail maintenance ever undertaken in Sydney has begun in response to te recent recommendations made by the expert panel conducting the Sydney Trains Review for restoring reliability to the network.
- Maintenance work is being prioritized during the existing trackwork windows such as on weekends, weeknights, during school holidays or during weekday diversions when fewer people are catching trains.
- Train replacement buses may be impacted due to bus driver shortages. Consider catching local bus services where possible, or make alternative arrangements.
T1 Western Line
Friday 8 to Saturday 9 December
- From 10.30pm Friday to 9.30am Saturday, buses replace trains between Richmond and Schofields.
- Trains run to the normal timetable between Schofields and the City.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Saturday 9 December
- From 6.30am to 10.30am, Leppington trains will not stop at Ashfield. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
T5 Cumberland Line
Friday 8 to Saturday 9 December
- From 10.30pm Friday to 9.30am Saturday, buses replace trains between Richmond and Schofields.
T8 Airport & South Line
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 December
- Buses replace trains between Sydenham and Central via the Airport.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and the City Circle via Sydenham.
T9 Northern Line
Saturday 9 December
- From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
Blue Mountains Line
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 December
- Daily from 8.30am to 7.30pm, buses replace trains between Lithgow and Penrith.
- Trains run to the normal timetable between Penrith and Central, platforms 1-12.
- Some Bathurst trains run between Bathurst and Lithgow only.
South Coast Line
Saturday 9 December
- From 3am to 11am, buses replace trains between Port Kembla and Wollongong, and between Dapto and Waterfall.
- Trains run between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, to a changed timetable. Some trains may run earlier than the normal timetable.
Sunday 10 December
- From 2.30am to 9.50am, buses replace trains between Bomaderry, Kiama and Wollongong.
- Trains run between Port Kembla, Wollongong and the City, some to a changed timetable.
Southern Highlands Line
Saturday 9 December
- From 10am to 4pm, buses replace trains between Campbelltown and Moss Vale.
