Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- The biggest coordinated program of rail maintenance ever undertaken in Sydney has begun in response to te recent recommendations made by the expert panel conducting the Sydney Trains Review for restoring reliability to the network.
- Maintenance work is being prioritised during the existing trackwork windows such as on weekends, weeknights, during school holidays or during weekday diversions when fewer people are catching trains.
- Train replacement buses may be impacted due to bus driver shortages. Consider catching local bus services where possible, or make alternative arrangements.
T1 North Shore Line
Monday 12 June
- Buses replace trains between Berowra and Hornsby.
- Trains run between Hornsby and the City, to a changed timetable.
T1 Western Line
Monday 12 June
- Richmond trains run between Richmond and Olympic Park only. Change at Parramatta for trains towards the City.
Wednesday 14 June
- From 10.50pm to 1.30am, most trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood.
Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June
- Richmond trains make extra stops at Granville and Auburn
- On Sunday, trains run between Richmond and Strathfield only.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Wednesday 14 June
- From 11pm to 1.30am, buses replace the all-stations Inner West trains between Strathfield and Ashfield
- Leppington trains will not stop at Ashfield.
Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June
- Buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Regents Park, stopping all stations between Cabramatta and Lidcombe
T3 Bankstown Line
Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June
- Extra trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park, stopping at all stations between Liverpool and Lidcombe.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June
- Saturday from 5.50am to 8am, trains run between Cronulla, Waterfall and the City Circle, and between Central and Bondi Junction only. Change at Central or Town Hall for trains towards Bondi Junction.
- Sunday, buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction.
T5 Cumberland Line
Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June
- Buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
T7 Olympic Park Line
Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June
- Extra trains run between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, then continue to Schofields or Richmond.
T9 Northern Line
Monday 12 June
- Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Strathfield.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Strathfield and the City, and between Hornsby and the City via the T1 North Shore Line.
Blue Mountains Line
Monday 12 June
- Until 10pm, most trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only.
- Bathurst trains start and end at Strathfield.
Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June
- Trains may run to a changed timetable, due to trackwork between Blacktown and Homebush.
Central Coast & Newcastle Line
Monday 12 June
- Buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Hornsby. T1 North Shore Line trains run between Hornsby and the City.
Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 June
- Nightly from 8.45pm to 1.45am, buses replace trains from Newcastle Interchange to Wyong.
- Nightly from 9.35pm to 3.40am, buses replace trains from Wyong to Newcastle Interchange.
Hunter Line
Monday 12 June
- Buses replace trains between Scone or Dungog and Newcastle Interchange.
Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 June
- Nightly from 11pm to 1am, trains towards Telarah run up to 20 minutes later than the normal timetable, due to trackwork on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line.
South Coast Line
Saturday 17 June
- From 5.50am to 8am, trains run between South Coast Line stations and Central, platforms 1-12 only.
- From 8am to 4pm, at Waterfall, all trains leave from platform 1.
Sunday 18 June
- Buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction.
- Most trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and the City Circle.
- From 8am to 4pm, at Waterfall, Helensburgh and Otford, all trains leave from platform 1.
Southern Highlands Line
Saturday 17 June
- From 10am to 4pm, buses replace trains between Campbelltown and Moss Vale.
