Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- The biggest coordinated program of rail maintenance ever undertaken in Sydney has begun in response to te recent recommendations made by the expert panel conducting the Sydney Trains Review for restoring reliability to the network.
- Maintenance work is being prioritised during the existing trackwork windows such as on weekends, weeknights, during school holidays or during weekday diversions when fewer people are catching trains.
- Train replacement buses may be impacted due to bus driver shortages. Consider catching local bus services where possible, or make alternative arrangements.
Metro
Monday 19 to Thursday 22 June
- Nightly from 9.30pm to 1.30am, metro will run to a reduced frequency between Tallawong and Chatswood.
Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June
- Buses replace metro between Tallawong and Epping.
City Circle
Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June
- Trains will not run on the City Circle.
- T1 North Shore & Western and T9 Northern Line trains continue to run between Central and Wynyard.
T1 North Shore Line
Monday 19 to Thursday 22 June
- Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Central.
T1 Western Line
Monday 19 to Thursday 22 June
- Nightly from 9.30pm to 1.30am, trains run between T1 Western Line stations and Central, platforms 1-12 only.
- Nightly from 10.15pm to 4am, buses replace trains between Emu Plains and Blacktown.
Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June
- Penrith trains make extra stops at Burwood and Ashfield.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Monday 19 to Thursday 22 June
- Nightly from 10.05pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Fairfield and the City via Granville.
Wednesday 21 June
- From 10am to 1.30pm, buses replace trains between Leppington and Liverpool.
- Trains run to the normal timetable between Liverpool and the City via Granville.
Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June
- Buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield, and the all-stations Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur, Glenfield and Central, platforms 1-12, via Granville.
T3 Bankstown Line
Monday 19 to Thursday 22 June
- Nightly from 10.15pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Liverpool and Villawood.
Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June
- Trains run between Liverpool or Lidcombe and Sydenham only, some to a changed timetable.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June
- All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
- Daily from 8am to 8pm, extra trains run between Hurstville and Bondi Junction.
T5 Cumberland Line
Monday 19 to Thursday 22 June
- Nightly from 10.05pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield.
- Tuesday and Wednesday, nightly from 11.50pm to 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond or Fairfield and Olympic Park only. Some trains start and end at Granville.
Wednesday 21 June
- From 10am to 1.30pm, buses replace trains between Leppington and Liverpool.
- Trains run to the normal timetable between Liverpool and Schofields.
Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June
- Buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield.
- Trains run to the normal timetable between Liverpool and Schofields or Richmond.
- Early morning and late night T5 trains will not run. Change trains at Granville to continue your journey.
T8 Airport & South Line
Friday 23 June
- From 11.55pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Glenfield and Sydenham, and between Sydenham and Central via the Airport.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and Glenfield.
Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June
- Buses replace trains between Glenfield and Sydenham, and between Sydenham and Central via the Airport.
T9 Northern Line
Monday 19 to Thursday 22 June
- Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am, trains run between Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12 only.

- Trains make extra stops at Croydon and Ashfield.
Blue Mountains Line

- Nightly from 10pm to 2am, buses replace the some trains between Springwood and Blacktown.

- From 8am to 4pm, at Corrimal, Bellambi, Woonona and Bulli, all trains leave from platform 2.
Sunday 25 June
- From 8am to 4pm, at North Wollongong, Fairy Meadow and Towradgi, all trains leave from platform 2.
Southern Highlands Line
Saturday 24 June
- From 10am to 4pm, buses replace trains between Campbelltown and Moss Vale.
