Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- From 1 November, COVID Safe capacity on public transport will increase to around 75 percent. More green dots will allow you to sit next to each other. Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, ride share and hire cars across NSW.
- On Tuesday 14 December, due to industrial action significant delays are expected on Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services. Trains will run to a reduced timetable and some services will be cancelled. Consider using alternative transport.
City Circle
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December
- Trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Museum.
T1 North Shore Line
Monday 13 to Thursday 16 December
- Nightly from 9.40pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Central. Some trains continue to run towards Hornsby until 10.20pm.
Friday 17 December
- From 11pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Wynyard and North Sydney.
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December
- Buses replace trains between Gordon and Wynyard.
- Trains run between Hornsby and Gordon.
T1 Western Line
Monday 13 to Thursday 16 December
- Nightly from 10.50pm until 2am, trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line.
Monday 13 to Wednesday 15 December
- Nightly from 10pm until 1.30am, trains make an extra stop at Homebush.
Thursday 16 December
- From 9.45pm until 1.30am, Penrith trains make extra stops at Auburn and Granville.
Friday 17 December
- From 11pm until 2am, trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line.
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December
- Penrith trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Monday 13 to Wednesday 15 December
- From 10pm until 1.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
Thursday 16 December
- From 9.45pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December
- Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
T3 Bankstown Line
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December
- Buses replace trains between Cabramatta, Lidcombe and Sydenham via Bankstown.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December
- All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
T5 Cumberland Line
Thursday 16 December
- From 9.45pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December
- Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
T7 Olympic Park Line
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December
- Trains will not run between Olympic Park and Lidcombe.
- T2 Inner West Line trains run between Olympic Park, Homebush and the City.
T8 Airport & South Line

- Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
T9 Northern Line
Monday 13 to Thursday 16 December
- Nightly 9.40pm until 2am, trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line.

- From 11pm until 2am, trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line.
Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, via Strathfield.
South Coast Line
Monday 13 to Thursday 16 December
- From 12pm Monday, buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Kiama.
- From 2pm Monday to 3am Thursday, buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Dapto.
- On Thursday from 3am to 12pm, buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Kiama only.
Sunday 19 December
- From 8am until 4pm, at Otford and Helensburgh, trains towards Central leave from platform 2, not platform 1.
