Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- From 10 January 2022, most public transport services will run to a reduced timetable. Plan ahead and consider all your transport options. Allow extra travel time as connecting services may be impacted.
- Currently COVID Safe capacity on public transport is around 75 percent. Green dots will help you to choose the best places to sit or stand.
- Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, ride share and hire cars across NSW.
Metro
Monday 17 January
- From 9pm until 1am, buses replace metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood.
City Circle
Monday 17 to Thursday 20 January
- Nightly from 9.45pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Circular Quay via Museum.
Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 January
- Trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Town Hall.
T1 North Shore Line
Saturday 15 to Sunday 16 January
- From 7.40pm Saturday until 5am Sunday, buses replace trains between Berowra and Hornsby.
T1 Western Line
Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 January
- Buses replace trains between St Marys and Granville, and between Richmond and Granville.
Monday 17 to Thursday 20 January
- Nightly from 10.10pm until 12.15am, some trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 January
- Trains run between Penrith and the City to a changed timetable, making extra stops at Flemington and Homebush.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Sunday 16 January
- From 6.20am until 10.30am, buses replace the all-stations Homebush trains between Ashfield and Central.
Monday 17 to Thursday 20 January
- Nightly from 9.35pm until 1.30am, some Homebush trains run to a changed timetable between Homebush and North Sydney.
- On Tuesday and Wednesday, nightly from 11pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 January
- Buses replace the all-stations Homebush trains between Strathfield and Central.
T3 Bankstown Line
Monday 17 to Thursday 20 January
- Nightly from 9.45pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Circular Quay via Museum.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Sunday 16 January
- From 5.50am until 8am, trains run between Cronulla or Waterfall and the City Circle, and between Central and Bondi Junction.

- Nightly from 9.50pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland.
T5 Cumberland Line
Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 January
- Buses replace trains between Richmond and Granville.
Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 January
- Nightly from 11pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
T8 Airport&South Line

- From 5.50am until 8am, trains run between South Coast Line stations and the City Circle, and between Central and Bondi Junction.
- From 8am until 3.15pm, at Coledale, Wombarra and Scarborough, trains towards Central leave from platform 2, not platform 1.
Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 January
- From 12.50am Saturday, buses replace trains Bomaderry and Wollongong.
