Sydney & NSW - Trackwork Monday 10 December to Sunday 16 January 2022

    Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need. 

    • From 10 January 2022, most public transport services will run to a reduced timetable. Plan ahead and consider all your transport options. Allow extra travel time as connecting services may be impacted.
    • Currently COVID Safe capacity on public transport is around 75 percent. Green dots will help you to choose the best places to sit or stand. 
    • Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, ride share and hire cars across NSW.

    Metro

    Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 January

    • Nightly from 10pm until 2.30am, no trackwork on the Metro, but trackwork on the T9 Northern Line may affect how you travel.

    City Circle

    Monday 10 January

    • From 10pm until 11.55pm, trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Museum.
    • From 11.55pm until 1.30am, trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Town Hall.

    T1 North Shore Line

    Saturday 15 to Sunday 16 January

    • From 7.40pm Saturday until 5am Sunday, buses replace trains between Berowra and Hornsby.

    T1 Western Line

    Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 January

    • Nightly from 11.15pm until 4am, buses replace trains between Blacktown and Olympic Park.

    Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 January

    • Buses replace trains between St Marys and Granville, and between Richmond and Granville.

    T2 Inner West & Leppington Line

    Monday 10 January

    • From 10pm until 1.30am, some City Circle trains run to a changed timetable in one direction only. 

    Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 January

    • Nightly from 11.15pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Lidcombe via Granville. 

    Sunday 16 January

    • From 6.20am until 10.30am, buses replace the all-stations Homebush trains between Ashfield and Central. 

    T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line

    Monday 10 to Thursday 13 January

    • Nightly from 9.50pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. 

    Sunday 16 January

    • From 5.50am until 8am, trains run between Cronulla or Waterfall and the City Circle, and between Central and Bondi Junction.

    T5 Cumberland Line

    Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 January

    • Nightly from 11.30pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Blacktown and Lidcombe, and between Cabramatta and Lidcombe via Granville. 

    Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 January

    • Buses replace trains between Richmond and Granville.

    T7 Olympic Park Line

    Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 January

    • Nightly from 11.15pm until 1.30am, trains run between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, to a changed timetable. Extra trains run between Olympic Park and the City.

    T8 Airport&South Line

    Monday 10 January

    • From 10pm until 1.30am, trains start or end at Central. Change trains at Central to continue your journey.

    T9 Northern Line

    Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 January

    • Nightly from 10pm until 2.30am, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Rhodes.

    Blue Mountains Line

    Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 January

    • Nightly from 11pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Blacktown and Central. 

    Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 January

    • Buses replace trains between Penrith and Central.

    Central Coast & Newcastle Line

    Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 January

    • Nightly from 10.45pm until 3am, some trains run to a changed timetable via the T1 North Shore Line, making extra stops at Gordon, Chatswood, then all stations to Central. 

    Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 January

    • Nightly from 10pm until 2.50am, at Cowan, trains towards Gosford leave from platform 1, not platform 2.

    Saturday 15 to Sunday 16 January

    • From 6.50pm Saturday until 5am Sunday, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Wyong.

    Hunter Line

    Thursday 13 January

    • Buses replace selected trains between Maitland and Muswellbrook. 

    South Coast Line

    Saturday 15 January

    • From 8am until 3.15pm, at Coalcliff and Stanwell Park, trains towards Central leave from platform 2, not platform 1. 

    Sunday 16 January

    • From 5.50am until 8am, trains run between South Coast Line stations and the City Circle, and between Central and Bondi Junction.
    • From 8am until 3.15pm, at Coledale, Wombarra and Scarborough, trains towards Central leave from platform 2, not platform 1.
