Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- The biggest coordinated program of rail maintenance ever undertaken in Sydney has begun in response to te recent recommendations made by the expert panel conducting the Sydney Trains Review for restoring reliability to the network.
- Maintenance work is being prioritized during the existing trackwork windows such as on weekends, weeknights, during school holidays or during weekday diversions when fewer people are catching trains.
- Train replacement buses may be impacted due to bus driver shortages. Consider catching local bus services where possible, or make alternative arrangements.
T1 Western Line
Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May
- Trains may run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
- Richmond trains make extra stops at Granville and Auburn.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Wednesday 22 May
- From 10.15am to 1.20pm, buses replace trains between Leppington and Liverpool.
- Trains run to the normal timetable between Liverpool and the City via Granville, and between Glenfield and the City via the Airport.
Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May
- Buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
- Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and the City via Regents Park.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Monday 20 to Thursday 23 May
- Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Waterfall or Cronulla and North Sydney.
Saturday 25 May
- From 5.45am to 8am, trains run to a changed timetable between Waterfall or Cronulla and the City Circle, and between Central and Bondi Junction.
- Change trains at Central or Town Hall to continue your journey.
T5 Cumberland Line
Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 May
- Nightly from 11.50pm to 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond or Leppington and Olympic Park only. Some trains start and end at Granville.
- You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.
Wednesday 22 May
- From 10.15am to 1.20pm, buses replace trains between Leppington and Liverpool.
- Trains run to the normal timetable between Liverpool and Schofields.
Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May
- Buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Regents Park and between Richmond or Schofields and Olympic Park.
- You should change at Lidcombe for trains towards Richmond or Leppington and Cabramatta or Granville for buses to Canley Vale, Fairfield, Yennora, Guildford or Merrylands.
Blue Mountains Line
Monday 20 to Friday 24 May
- Buses replace trains between Lithgow and Mount Victoria.
- Trains run between Mount Victoria and Central, some to a changed timetable.
- Bathurst trains run between Bathurst and Lithgow or Central, to a changed timetable.
- Some early morning and late-night services will run between Bathurst and Mount Victoria.
Friday 24 May
- From 11pm, trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and the City Circle.
Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May
- Most trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Change trains at Blacktown to continue your journey.
- Some early morning trains will run around the City Circle.
- Bathurst trains continue to run between Bathurst and Central.
Central Coast & Newcastle Line
Friday 24 May
- From 11pm, trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and North Sydney or the City Circle.
Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May
- Most trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only. Change trains at Strathfield to continue your journey.
- Some late night or early morning trains will run around the City Circle.
Hunter Line
Tuesday 21 to Friday 24 May
- 4am Tuesday to 7.30am Friday, buses replace trains between Scone and Maitland.
- Trains between Dungog, Maitland and Newcastle Interchange may run to a changed timetable.
- Tuesday and Wednesday, nightly from 7.20pm to 4.30am, buses replace all trains between Scone, Dungog and Newcastle Interchange.
South Coast Line
Monday 20 to Thursday 23 May
- Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction.
- Trains run between South Coast Line stations and the City Circle.
- You should change at Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff or Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction. Trackwork buses do not leave from Martin Place Station.
Friday 24 to Sunday 26 May
- From 11pm Friday, trains run between South Coast Line stations and Bondi Junction or the City Circle.
Saturday 25 May
- From 3am to 11am, buses replace trains between Port Kembla, Dapto and Waterfall.
- You may need to change buses to continue your journey.
- Trains run between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, some to a changed timetable.
Sunday 26 May
- From 2.30am to 9.50am, buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Wollongong.
- You may need to change buses to continue your journey.
- Trains run between Port Kembla, Wollongong and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable.
