Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
City Circle
Monday 21 to Thursday 24 December
- Nightly from 9.30pm until 1am, some trains from the City start at Central. You may need to change trains at Central to continue your journey.
T1 North Shore Line
Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 December
- Nightly from 10.30pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Hornsby and North Sydney or Wynyard.
Friday 1 to Sunday 10 January
- From 6am Friday 1 January, buses replace all trains between North Sydney and Wynyard.
- Monday 4 to Friday 8 January, trains run to a weekend timetable with extra trains during the morning and afternoon peak periods.
T1 Western Line
Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 December
- Nightly from 10.30pm until 2am, trains start and end at North Sydney due to T1 North Shore Line trackwork.
Wednesday 30 December
- From 11pm until 1am, trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood.
- Friday 1 to Sunday 10 January
- From 6am Friday 1 January trains run to a changed timetable between Emu Plains or Penrith and the City Circle, from Central first stop Museum. If you are travelling to City Circle stations please remain on the train.
- Monday 4 to Friday 8 January, trains run to a weekend timetable with extra trains during the morning and afternoon peak periods.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Monday 21 to Thursday 24 December
- Nightly from 9.30pm until 1am, some trains from the City start at Central. You may need to change trains at Central to continue your journey.
Saturday 26 to Monday 28 December
- Homebush trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park, stopping at all stations between Liverpool and Lidcombe then running to the normal timetable between Homebush and the City.
Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 December
- Daily from 6am until 11pm, extra trains run between Ashfield and the City, continuing to Kingsgrove via the Airport.
- On Wednesday from 11pm until 1am, buses replace the all-stations Homebush trains between Strathfield and Ashfield.
T3 Bankstown Line
Monday 21 to Thursday 24 December
- Nightly from 9.30pm until 1am, some trains run around the City Circle to a changed timetable.
Saturday 26 to Monday 28 December
- Buses replace all trains between Bankstown and Central.
Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 December
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool or Lidcombe and Sydenham only.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Saturday 26 to Monday 28 December
- Buses replace all trains between Hurstville and Central. Some buses start and end at Redfern.
Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 December
- All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
- Daily from 8am until 8pm, extra trains run between Hurstville and Bondi Junction.
T5 Cumberland Line
Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 December
- Nightly from 11.50pm until 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond and Granville, and between Granville and Leppington only.
Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 December
- Some early morning and late night trains between Richmond and Leppington will not run.
Thursday 31 December
- Some early morning trains between Richmond and Leppington will not run.
- From 2pm, trains between Richmond and Leppington will not run.
T8 Airport & South Line
Monday 21 to Thursday 24 December
- Nightly from 9.30pm until 1am, trains to the City end at Central. You may need to change trains at Central to continue your journey.
Saturday 26 to Monday 28 December
- Trackwork affecting the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra and South Coast lines may affect how you travel.
Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 December
- Daily from 6am until 11pm, extra trains run between Kingsgrove and the City, continuing to Ashfield.
T9 Northern Line
Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 December
- Nightly from 10.30pm until 2am, trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and North Sydney via Strathfield.
Friday 1 to Sunday 10 January
- From 6am Friday 1 January, trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, via Strathfield.
- Monday 4 to Friday 8 January, trains run to a weekend timetable with extra trains during the morning and afternoon peak periods.
Blue Mountains Line
Friday 25 to Wednesday 30 December
- From 11pm Friday, trains run to a changed timetable between Lithgow or Mount Victoria and Strathfield only. You can change at Strathfield for express or all-stations trains to the City.
Central Coast & Newcastle Line
Friday 25 December
- From 11pm until 2am, trains run to a changed timetable between Newcastle Interchange or Wyong and the City Circle via Strathfield.
Saturday 26 to Wednesday 30 December
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Newcastle Interchange or Wyong and North Sydney via Strathfield.
- On Tuesday and Wednesday trains run to a weekend timetable with extra trains during the morning and afternoon peak periods.
- On Wednesday, buses replace the 01:47 Central to Newcastle service from Central to Strathfield.
Friday 1 to Sunday 10 January
- From 6am Friday 1 January, T1 North Shore Line trains run between Hornsby and North Sydney only. If you are travelling to stations Waitara to North Sydney please change at Hornsby, not Berowra.
- Monday 4 to Friday 8 January, trains run to a weekend timetable with extra trains during the morning and afternoon peak periods.
South Coast Line
Saturday 26 to Monday 28 December
- Trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and Waterfall only.
Saturday 2 January
- From 8am until 8pm, at Stanwell Park, trains towards Wollongong leave from platform 1, not platform 2.
Sunday 3 January
- From 8am until 8pm, at Scarborough, Wombarra and Coledale, trains towards Wollongong leave from platform 1, not platform 2.
Southern Highlands Line
Saturday 26 to Monday 28 December
- Trains between Moss Vale and Central run to a changed timetable via Regents Park.
