Sydney & NSW - Trackwork Monday 22 to Sunday 28 May 2023

    Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need. 

    • Train replacement buses may be impacted due to bus driver shortages. Consider catching local bus services where possible, or make alternative arrangements.
    • Consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking, cycling and driving where possible as there will be limited space on replacement buses.

    Metro

    Monday 22 to Thursday 25 May

    • Nightly from 9.30pm, metro will run to a reduced frequency between Tallawong and Chatswood. 

    City Circle

    Monday 22 May

    • From 9.50pm to 11.55pm, trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Museum.
    • From 11.55pm to 1.30am, trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Town Hall.

    T1 North Shore Line 

    Monday 22 to Thursday 25 May

    • Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Central.

    T1 Western Line

    Monday 22 to Thursday 25 May

    • Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am, trains run between T1 Western Line stations and Central, platforms 1-12 only, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line. 

    Friday 26 May

    • From 10.50pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Emu Plains and St Marys and some late-night trains from Blacktown to Penrith.
    • Most trains run to a changed timetable between St Marys and the City. 

    Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May

    • Buses replace trains between Emu Plains and Blacktown.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond, Blacktown and the City.

    T2 Inner West & Leppington Line

    Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May

    • Saturday from 6.30am to 10.30am, the all-stations Inner West trains run between Ashfield and the City only.
    • Sunday from 6.30am to 10.30am, buses replace the all-stations Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central.

    T3 Bankstown Line

    Saturday 27 May

    • From 2am to 9.30am, buses replace trains between Bankstown and Sydenham.

    T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line

    Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May

    • Daily from 6.30am to 12.15pm, some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
    • Some trains start or end at Hurstville or Sutherland. 
    • Sunday from 1pm to 4pm, trains will not stop at Wolli Creek, but make an extra stop at Arncliffe. 
    • Buses run between Arncliffe, Wolli Creek and Sydenham.

    T5 Cumberland Line

    Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 May

    • Nightly from 11.50pm to 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond or Leppington and Olympic Park only. Some trains start and end at Granville.

    T8 Airport & South Line

    Monday 22 May

    • From 9.50pm to 1.30am, trains start and end at Central due to trackwork on the City Circle.
    • Change trains at Central to continue your journey.

    T9 Northern Line

    Monday 22 to Thursday 25 May

    • Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am, trains run between Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12 only, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line. 

    Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May

    • Daily from 6.30am to 10.30am, some trains make extra stops at Croydon and Ashfield.

    Blue Mountains Line

    Monday 22 to Friday 26 May

    • From 2am Monday to 10pm Friday, buses replace trains between Lithgow and Mount Victoria.
    • Friday from 10pm, buses replace trains from Lithgow to Blacktown.
    • Friday from 11pm, buses replace trains from Blacktown to Lithgow.

    Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May  

    • Buses replace trains between Bathurst and Blacktown.

    Hunter Line

    Tuesday 23 to Thursday 25 May

    • From 4am Tuesday to 10pm Thursday, buses replace trains between Scone and Maitland.
    • Tuesday and Wednesday, nightly from 7.20pm to 4.30am, buses replace all trains between Scone, Dungog and Newcastle Interchange.
    • Buses also replace the 18:01 Maitland to Dungog service.

    South Coast Line

    Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May

    • Daily from 6.30am to 12.15pm, some trains make extra stops between Sutherland and Hurstville.
    • Sunday from 1pm to 4pm, trains will not stop at Wolli Creek, but make extra stops at Arncliffe and Sydenham.
    • Buses run between Arncliffe, Wolli Creek and Sydenham.
