Major works this summer
Works continue on some of the state’s biggest transport projects this summer. Critical maintenance works will also take place on our rail, tram and road networks to ensure services continue to run reliably.
There’ll be disruptions to the public transport and road networks while these works take place. Be sure to plan ahead and allow extra time or take an alternative route if possible.
Metro Trains
Belgrave Lines
- Buses replace trains between Ringwood and Belgrave stations from 8.30pm Friday 7 January to last service Sunday 9 January.
Belgrave, Glen Waverley and Lilydale Lines
- Belgrave, Glen Waverley and Lilydale trains run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop, from 9pm Friday 14 January to last train Sunday 16 January, due to works.
- Trains on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines will run direct to and from Burnley Station, and trains on the Glen Waverley Line will run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop, from 9pm to last train each night from Sunday 16 January to Wednesday 19 January, due to works.
Craigieburn, Sunbury and Upfield Lines
- Craigieburn, Sunbury and Upfield line trains run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop, from 9pm to last train each night from Sunday 16 January to Wednesday 19 January.
Cranbourne and Pakenham Lines
- Cranbourne and Pakenham trains run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop, from 9pm to last train each night from Sunday 9 January to Wednesday 12 January.
- Buses replace Cranbourne and Pakenham trains between Westall and Cranbourne/Pakenham stations from 8.30pm Tuesday 11 January to last service Thursday 3 February, due to works.
Hurstbridge and Mernda Lines
- Buses replace trains between Parliament, Heidelberg and Reservoir stations from 9pm Sunday 2 January to last service Sunday 9 January 2022, due to Hurstbridge Line Duplication works.
- Hurstbridge and Mernda trains run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop, from 6am Saturday 15 January to last train Sunday 16 January, due to works.
- Buses replace trains on the Hurstbridge and Mernda lines between Parliament and Clifton Hill stations from 8.25pm to last train each night Sunday 16 January to Wednesday 19 January 2022, due to infrastructure works.
Upfield Line
- Buses replace trains between North Melbourne and Upfield stations from 8.35pm to last train each night from Sunday 16 January to Wednesday 19 January, due to works.
Werribee and Williamstown Lines
- Buses replace trains between North Melbourne and Werribee/Williamstown from 8.15pm to last train each night from Sunday 9 January to Wednesday 12 January.
