    Melbourne Cup Day Public Holiday


     

    Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday 5 November 2019 is a public holiday.
    Most public transport services will operate to a Saturday timetable, but some services may be altered or will not run. Night Network services will not run.

    🚇Metro Trains


     

    Multiple Lines

    • Alamein, Belgrave, Cranbourne, Frankston, Glen Waverley, Hurstbridge, Lilydale, Mernda, Pakenham and Sandringham line trains will run to an altered timetable from Flinders Street Station from 10pm Friday 1 November to 1am Saturday 2 November.

     

    Alamein, Belgrave, Glen Waverley and Lilydale lines

    • Alamein, Belgrave, and Lilydale line trains will run direct to and from Flinders Street Station, not via the City Loop, from 9pm Friday 8 November to last train Sunday 10 November, due to works. During this time, buses will also replace trains on the Glen Waverley line.

     

    Craigieburn, Sunbury and Werribee lines

    • To support extra services to the Melbourne Cup Carnival, select train services on the Craigieburn, Sunbury and Werribee lines will experience service changes on Thursday 7 November.

     

    Cranbourne and Pakenham lines

    • Buses replace trains between Westall and Cranbourne/Pakenham stations from 7.30pm to last train each night, from Sunday 3 November to Wednesday 6 November, while maintenance works take place.
    • Trains on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines will run direct to and from Flinders Street Station, not via the City Loop, from 9pm to last train on Wednesday 6 November 2019.

     

    Frankston Line

    • Buses replace trains between Caulfield and Mordialloc from 9.45pm Friday 8 November to last train Sunday 10 November, while project works take place.
    • Frankston line trains will not run between Caulfield and the city from 9.30am to 7.05pm each day on Saturday 9 November and Saturday 10 November, while project works take place.

     

    Glen Waverley Line

    • Buses replace trains between Burnley and Darling stations from 8.30pm Friday 8 November to 7am Saturday 9 November, due to Toorak Road level crossing removal project works.

     

    Hurstbridge Line

    • Buses replace train services between Clifton Hill and Greensborough stations from 8.15pm to last train on Thursday 31 October, due to works.

     

    Hurstbridge and Mernda Lines

    • Trains on the Hurstbridge and Mernda linea will run direct to and from Flinders Street Station, not via the City Loop on Saturday 2 November, due to works.

     

    Mernda Line

    • Buses replace trains between Keon Park and Mernda stations from 8.20pm Friday 8 November to last train Sunday 10 November, while works take place.

     

    Sandringham Line

    • Trains on the Sandringham Line will run direct to and from Flinders Street Station, not via the City Loop from 7.30am to 8.49pm on Saturday 2 November and Tuesday 5 November, due to works.
    • Trains on the Sandringham Line will run direct to and from Flinders Street Station, not via the City Loop, from Saturday 9 November to Sunday 10 November, due to works.

     

    Sunbury Line

    • Buses replace trains between Watergardens and Sunbury from 1am to 3pm, and between Sunshine and Sunbury from 3pm to last train on Sunday 3 November, while project works take place.
    • Buses replace trains between North Melbourne and Sunbury stations from 8.30pm to last train each night, Monday 4 November to Wednesday 6 November 2019, due to maintenance works.

     

    Werribee and Williamstown lines

    • Buses replace trains between North Melbourne and Newport/Williamstown stations from 8.45pm to last train each night, Monday 4 November to Wednesday 6 November 2019, due to maintenance works.

     

    🚈Yarra Trams


     

    CBD Tram Routes

    • Due to the Melbourne Cup Parade on Swanston Street, CBD, Route 1, 3, 5, 6, 11, 12, 16, 35 (City Circle), 48, 64, 67, 70, 72, 75, 86, 96 and 109 trams will be affected by temporary service alterations between 10am and 1.35pm on Monday 4 November 2019.

     

    Route 11

    • Buses replace Route 11 trams between Stop 27 Westbourne Grove and West Preston from Sunday 10 November to Wednesday 20 November 2019, due to tram track renewal works on Miller Street and St Georges Road.

     

    🚊V/Line


     

     

    Ararat, Ballarat and Maryborough lines

    • Coaches replace trains between Southern Cross and Ballarat/Wendouree from Saturday 9 November until Sunday 1 December, due to Ballarat Line Upgrade works.
