π¨ Critical Sunday Shutdown: Major Routes Replaced by Buses (Sunday, June 7)
Significant engineering works will halt rail services across multiple key corridors on Sunday. Buses will replace trains between:
Leamington Spa / Rugby and Nuneaton / Birmingham International.
Affected Operators: This major block impacts Avanti West Coast (to/from London Euston), CrossCountry (between Bournemouth/Reading and Manchester Piccadilly), London Northwestern Railway, and West Midlands Railway. Plan for significantly extended travel times and check your connection points.
π οΈ Late-Evening & Weekend Rail Adjustments
Cross City Line (Saturday, June 6): West Midlands Railway will run amended timetables between Lichfield Trent Valley and Birmingham New Street / Bromsgrove. (Note: The long-term three-day closure for the HS2 viaduct near Curzon Street has successfully concluded, and normal daytime operations have resumed).
Coventry to Leamington Spa (Saturday, June 6): The late-evening 22:36 service from Leamington Spa to Coventry will run on a heavily amended timetable.
π Birmingham & Coventry Bus Diversions
π§ Long-Term Saltley Viaduct Closure (Birmingham Network)
Major route diversions and revised timetables remain active for several core National Express West Midlands services due to the ongoing closure of the Saltley Viaduct. Expect localised congestion and shifted stop patterns on:
Routes 14, 94, 95, and 97 (operating via Alum Rock, Ward End, Kingshurst, and Heartlands Hospital corridors).
π Localised Roadworks & Timetable Shifts
Route 96: Operating under a revised timetable. Evening journeys out of the NEC are retimed by 5 minutes to improve passenger connections. The bus is also executing a temporary detour bypassing part of Holly Lane due to National Grid one-way roadworks.
Coventry & Rugby Regional Services (Stagecoach): Revised schedules remain active for Routes 24, 24A, 24X, 25, 25A, and 25X connecting Coventry with Kenilworth, Stoneleigh, and Rugby.
