🚌 Bus Timetable Changes (Effective Sunday, May 10)
National Express West Midlands is tweaking several schedules this Sunday to improve reliability (essentially adjusting for “real-world” traffic):
Route 16 (Birmingham – Hamstead): A revised timetable starts Sunday following the completion of roadworks in Handsworth Wood.
Routes 80, X1, and X2: Minor timing adjustments to help buses stay on schedule during peak hours.
Coventry & Rugby: Revised Stagecoach timetables for routes 24, 25, and their variants to reduce “gap” times between buses.
🚧 Saltley Viaduct Closure: Permanent Bus Changes
Affected Routes: 8A/8C (Inner Circle), 14, 94, and 95.
The Impact: Due to the closure of Saltley Viaduct for HS2-related bridge works, these routes are diverted.
🚉 Rail: Engineering & Late-Night Works
Birmingham New Street / Northampton (Sunday, May 10): Engineering work will affect services until approximately 11:50 AM. Expect minor delays or platform changes for London Northwestern Railway services.
Evening Commuters: Late-night amended services continue between Birmingham and Coventry (Tuesday–Thursday nights) and between Birmingham and Crewe (Friday night).
