Sydney & NSW - Trackwork Monday 21 to Sunday 27 March 2022

    Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need. 

    • Due to severe weather conditions, significant delays and cancellations are expected on most Sydney Trains, NSW TrainLink Intercity and Regional trains services and buses in affected areas. Allow extra travel time and avoid non-essential travel.
    • Currently COVID Safe capacity on public transport is around 75 percent. Green dots will help you to choose the best places to sit or stand. 
    • Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, ride share and hire cars across NSW.

    Metro 

    Friday 25 March

    • From 10pm until 2am, buses replace metro services between Macquarie University and Chatswood. 

    Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 March

    • Buses replace metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood.

    T1 North Shore Line

    Ongoing

    • Due to earlier severe weather conditions, significant delays and cancellations may occur. 

    Friday 25 March

    • From 10.30pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Gordon and Wynyard. 

    Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 March

    • Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Wynyard.

    T1 Western Line

    Ongoing

    • Due to earlier severe weather conditions, significant delays and cancellations may occur.

    Wednesday 23 March

    • From 10.50pm until 1.30am, most trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood. 

    Friday 25 March

    • From 10.30pm until 2am, trains run between Penrith and North Sydney only.

    Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 March

    • Trains run between Penrith and Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line.

    T2 Inner West & Leppington Line

    Ongoing

    • Due to earlier severe weather conditions, significant delays and cancellations may occur.

    Wednesday 23 March

    • From 10.50pm until 1.30am, buses replace the all-stations Homebush trains between Strathfield and Ashfield. 

    Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 March

    • Homebush trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park.
    • Extra trains also run between Ashfield and the City.
    • On Sunday from 6.20am until 10.30am, buses replace the all-stations Homebush trains between Ashfield and Central.

    T3 Bankstown Line

    Ongoing

    • Due to earlier severe weather conditions, significant delays and cancellations may occur. 

    Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 March

    • Buses replace trains between Lidcombe, Cabramatta and Sydenham via Bankstown.
    • Trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park.

    T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line

    Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 March

    • All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.

    T5 Cumberland Line

    Ongoing

    • Due to earlier severe weather conditions, significant delays and cancellations may occur.

    T7 Olympic Park Line

    Ongoing

    • Due to earlier severe weather conditions, significant delays and cancellations may occur.

    T8 Airport & South Line

    Ongoing

    • Due to earlier severe weather conditions, significant delays and cancellations may occur. 

    T9 Northern Line

    Friday 25 March

    • From 10.30pm until 2am, trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line. 

    Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 March

    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, via Strathfield

    Blue Mountains Line

    • Due to earlier severe weather conditions, significant delays and cancellations may occur.

    Central Coast & Newcastle Line

    Ongoing

    • Due to earlier severe weather conditions, significant delays and cancellations may occur.

    South Coast Line

    Ongoing

    • Due to earlier severe weather conditions, significant delays and cancellations may occur.

    Saturday 26 March 

    • From 8am until 4pm, at Bulli, Woonona, Bellambi and Corrimal, trains towards Wollongong leave from platform 1, not platform 2.

    Sunday 27 March 

    • From 8am until 4pm, at Towradgi, Fairy Meadow and North Wollongong, trains towards Wollongong leave from platform 1, not platform 2.

    Southern Highlands Line

    • Due to earlier severe weather conditions, significant delays and cancellations may occur.
