Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- Consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking, cycling and driving where possible as there will be limited space on replacement buses.
- Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, ride share and hire cars across NSW.
Metro
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August
- Buses replace metro between Tallawong and Chatswood.
- Buses also replace trains on the T1 North Shore Line. If you are travelling to the City change at Epping, not Chatswood, for a T9 Northern Line train to Central.
City Circle
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August
- Trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Museum.
- You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
- T3 Bankstown Line trains start and end at Sydenham.
T1 North Shore Line
Friday 5 August
- From 10.40pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Gordon and Wynyard.
- Trains run between Berowra and Gordon, some to a changed timetable.
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August
- Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Wynyard.
- T9 Northern Line trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, via Strathfield.
T1 Western Line
Thursday 4 August
- From 10.40pm until 4am, buses replace trains between Blacktown and Olympic Park.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith, Richmond and Blacktown, and between Olympic Park and the City.
Friday 5 to Sunday 7 August
- From 10.40pm Friday, Penrith trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12.
- If you are travelling to T1 North Shore Line stations change at Central for the light rail or a City Circle train to Wynyard, then change for a bus.
- On Saturday and Sunday, Richmond trains run between Richmond and Olympic Park only. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Thursday 4 August
- From 11pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Lidcombe via Granville.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Regents Park.
T3 Bankstown Line
Monday 1 to Wednesday 3 August
- Nightly from 9.30pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe.
- Trains run between Liverpool, Bankstown and the City, some to a changed timetable.
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August
- Trains start and end at Sydenham due to City Circle trackwork.
- T4 Illawarra Line trains run between Sydenham and Bondi Junction, making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line,
Monday 1 to Thursday 4 August
- Nightly from 10pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla or Waterfall and the City Circle.
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August
- All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
- Daily from 8am until 8pm, extra trains run between Hurstville and Bondi Junction.
T5 Cumberland Line
Thursday 4 August
- From 10.40pm until 4am, buses replace trains between Blacktown and Olympic Park, and between Cabramatta and Lidcombe via Granville.
- You may need to change buses at Granville to continue your journey.
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August
- Some early morning and late night trains start and end at Olympic Park. You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.
T8 Airport & South Line
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August
- Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern due to City Circle trackwork. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
- Revesby trains run between Revesby and Central only.
- Most Macarthur trains from the City run via Sydenham.
T9 Northern Line
Friday 5 August
- From 10.40pm until 2am, trains run between Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line.
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, via Strathfield.
- If you are travelling to T1 North Shore Line stations change at Central for the light rail or a City Circle train to Wynyard, then change for a bus.
Blue Mountains Line
Thursday 4 August
- From 10.40pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Blacktown and Central.
- Trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only, to a changed timetable.
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August
- Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central.
Central Coast & Newcastle Line
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August
- Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central.
Hunter Line
Monday 1 and Thursday 4 August
- Buses replace the following trains:
- 12:25 and 12:44 Newcastle Interchange to Telarah
- 13:10 and 13:37 Telarah to Newcastle Interchange.
Thursday 4 August
- Buses replace the following trains between Maitland and Muswellbrook:
- 08:14 Newcastle Interchange to Muswellbrook
- 10:09 Muswellbrook to Newcastle Interchange
- Trains run to the normal timetable between Newcastle Interchange and Maitland.
