Sydney & NSW - Trackwork Monday 25 to Sunday 31 July

    Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need. 

    • Consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking, cycling and driving where possible as there will be limited space on replacement buses.
    • Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, ride share and hire cars across NSW.

    Metro

    Monday 25 to Thursday 28 July

    • Nightly from 10pm until 1.30am, buses replace metro between Tallawong and Chatswood. 

    Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July

    • From 10pm Friday, buses replace metro between Macquarie University and Chatswood.
    • Buses also replace trains on the City Circle and T1 North Shore Line. If you are travelling to the City change at Epping, not Chatswood, for trains to Central via the T9 Northern Line.

    City Circle

    Monday 25 to Thursday 28 July

    • Nightly from 9.45pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Circular Quay via Museum.
    • T1 North Shore & Western, T2 Leppington and T9 Northern Line trains continue to run between Central and Wynyard. 

    Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July

    • From 11pm Friday, City Circle trains will not run.
    • Buses replace trains between Central and Circular Quay via Museum.

    T1 North Shore Line

    Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July

    • From 11pm Friday, buses replace trains between Gordon and Wynyard.
    • From Wynyard, you can catch the light rail to Circular Quay, Town Hall or Central. City Circle trains will not run.

    T1 Western Line

    Monday 25 to Thursday 28 July

    • Nightly from 9.45pm until 1.30am, some trains make extra stops at Homebush, Burwood and Ashfield. 

    Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July

    • From 11pm Friday, trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the City Circle and T1 North Shore Line.
    • On Saturday and Sunday, most Richmond trains run between Richmond and Olympic Park only.
    • Sunday from 6.30am until 10.30am, Richmond trains run between Richmond and Leppington.

    T2 Inner West & Leppington Line

    Monday 25 to Thursday 28 July

    • Nightly from 9.45pm until 1.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and North Sydney due to City Circle trackwork. 

    Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July

    • From 10.40pm Friday, buses replace trains between Ashfield and Central.
    • Leppington trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Ashfield only, making extra stops at all stations between Homebush and Ashfield.

    T3 Bankstown Line

    Monday 25 to Thursday 28 July

    • Nightly from 9.45pm until 1.30am, trains start and end at Sydenham due to City Circle trackwork.
    • T4 Illawarra Line trains run between Sydenham and Bondi Junction, making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. 

    Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July

    • From 10.45pm Friday, trains start and end at Sydenham due to City Circle trackwork.
    • T4 Illawarra Line trains run between Sydenham and Bondi Junction, making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.

    T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line,

    Monday 25 to Thursday 28 July

    • Nightly from 9.40pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Waterfall, Sutherland and Bondi Junction, making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. 

    Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July

    • From 11pm Friday, trackwork on the City Circle, T3 Bankstown and T8 Airport & South lines may affect how you travel.
    • All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
    • Daily from 8am until 8pm, extra trains run between Hurstville and Bondi Junction.

    T5 Cumberland Line

    Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 July

    • Some early morning and late night trains start and end at Olympic Park. You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.

    T7 Olympic Park Line

    Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 July

    • Extra trains run between Olympic Park and Richmond. 

    T8 Airport & South Line

    Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July

    • From 10.45pm Friday, all trains start and end at Central due to City Circle trackwork. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
    • From 2am Saturday, trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
    • Trains run between Revesby and Central via the Airport.
    • Most Macarthur trains run between Macarthur and Sydenham only.

    T9 Northern Line

    Monday 25 to Thursday 28 July

    • Nightly from 9.45pm until 1.30am, some trains make extra stops at Croydon and Ashfield. 

    Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July

    • From 11pm Friday, trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the City Circle and T1 North Shore Line.

    Blue Mountains Line

    Monday 25 to Friday 29 July

    • Buses replace trains between Lithgow and Katoomba.
    • Trains run between Bathurst and Lithgow, and between Katoomba and Penrith. Limited trains will run between Katoomba and Central.
    • T1 Western Line trains run between Penrith and the City.

    Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 July

    • Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central.

    Central Coast & Newcastle Line

    Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July

    • From 11pm Friday, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central.

    Saturday 30 July

    • From 6am until 11.05am, at Hawkesbury River and Cowan, trains towards Central leave from platform 2, not platform 1. 

    Sunday 31 July

    • From 6am until 11.05am, at Cowan and Hawkesbury River, trains towards Gosford leave from platform 1, not platform 2.

    Hunter Line

    Monday 25 July

    • Buses replace trains between Scone and Maitland.
    • Trains run to a reduced frequency and changed timetable between Maitland and Newcastle Interchange.

    South Coast Line

    Saturday 30 July

    • From 8am until 4pm, at Stanwell Park, trains towards Wollongong leave from platform 1, not platform 2.

    Sunday 31 July

    • From 8am until 4pm, at Scarborough, Wombarra and Coledale, trains towards Wollongong leave from platform 1, not platform 2.
