Sydney & NSW - Trackwork Monday 3 December to Sunday 9 January 2022

    Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need. 

    • From 10 January 2022, all Sydney Trains, NSW TrainLink Intercity and Regional train services will run to a reduced timetable. Allow extra travel time as connecting services may be impacted. 
    • Currently COVID Safe capacity on public transport is around 75 percent. Green dots will help you to choose the best places to sit or stand. 
    • Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, ride share and hire cars across NSW.

    T1 Western Line

    Sunday 9 January

    • From 5.50am until 8.45am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Blacktown.
    • From 8.45am until 11am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Schofields. 

    T2 Inner West & Leppington Line

    Monday 3 January

    • Homebush trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park. 

    Tuesday 4 to Friday 7 January

    • During the morning and afternoon peak periods, some trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Regents Park. 

    Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 January

    • Homebush trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park, stopping at all stations between Liverpool and Lidcombe, then running to the normal timetable between Homebush and the City.

    T3 Bankstown Line

    Monday 3 to Sunday 9 January

    • Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham.

    T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line

    Monday 3 January

    • From 11am until 1pm, trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.

    Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 January

    • Buses replace trains between Waterfall and Sutherland. 
    • From 8pm Saturday until 8am Sunday, buses replace trains between Cronulla, Waterfall and Hurstville.

    T5 Cumberland Line

    Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 January

    • Nightly from 11.50pm until 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Granville, and between Granville and Leppington only. Some trains start and end at Olympic Park. 

    Sunday 9 January

    • From 5.50am until 8.45am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Blacktown.
    • From 8.45am until 11am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Schofields.

    T9 Northern Line

    Saturday 8 to Sunday 9 January

    • From 8pm Saturday until 6.30am Sunday, buses replace trains between Epping and Strathfield. 

    Blue Mountains Line

    Saturday 1 to Monday 3 January

    • From 12pm Saturday, trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Strathfield only.
    • From 11pm Saturday until 5 Sunday, buses replace all trains between Strathfield and Central.

    Central Coast & Newcastle Line

    Saturday 8 to Sunday 9 January

    • From 8pm Saturday until 6.30am Sunday, trains towards Central run to a changed timetable via the T1 North Shore Line, making extra stops at Gordon, Chatswood then all stations to Central.

    South Coast Line

    Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 January

    • Buses replace trains between Port Kembla and Wollongong, and between Thirroul and Sutherland. 
    • From 8pm Saturday until 8am Sunday, buses replace trains between Thirroul and Hurstville, with extra buses running between Wollongong, North Wollongong and Hurstville.
