Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- The biggest coordinated program of rail maintenance ever undertaken in Sydney has begun in response to te recent recommendations made by the expert panel conducting the Sydney Trains Review for restoring reliability to the network.
- Maintenance work is being prioritized during the existing trackwork windows such as on weekends, weeknights, during school holidays or during weekday diversions when fewer people are catching trains.
- Train replacement buses may be impacted due to bus driver shortages. Consider catching local bus services where possible, or make alternative arrangements.
City Circle
Monday 4 to Thursday 7 September
- Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am, trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Museum.
- Some trains run to a changed timetable or leave from different platforms. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
Friday 8 September
- From 11pm to 1.30am, trains will not run on the City Circle.
- T1 North Shore & Western and T9 Northern Line trains continue to run, stopping at Central, Town Hall and Wynyard.
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September
- Trains will not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard.
- For travel around the City use the light rail between Central and Circular Quay or local bus services.
T1 North Shore Line
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and Wynyard only.
- Trains will not run between Wynyard and Central, or on the City Circle. The light rail runs between Circular Quay, Wynyard and Central.
- T9 Northern Line trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, via Strathfield.
T1 Western Line
Wednesday 6 September
- From 10.50pm to 1.30am, most trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood.
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Central, platforms 1-12, making extra stops at Flemington, Homebush and Burwood.
- Richmond trains run between Richmond and Olympic Park only. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey towards Central.

T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Wednesday 6 September
- From 11pm to 1.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Ashfield.
- Trains run between Ashfield and the City Circle, some to a changed timetable.
- Leppington trains continue to run but will not stop at Ashfield.
Friday 8 September
- From 10.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace Inner West Line trains between Ashfield and Central.
- Leppington trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Ashfield only, making extra stops between Homebush and Ashfield.
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September
- Buses replace trains between Glenfield and Liverpool, and Inner West Line trains between Strathfield and Central.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington, Glenfield and Central via the Airport, and between Liverpool and Olympic Park only. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey towards Central.

T3 Bankstown Line
Friday 8 to Sunday 10 September
- From 10.40pm Friday, trains run between Liverpool or Lidcombe and Sydenham only.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.

T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Monday 4 to Thursday 7 September
- Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am, trains will not stop at Wolli Creek, but make an extra stop at Arncliffe.
- Buses run between Sydenham, Wolli Creek and Arncliffe.
- Change at Arncliffe or Sydenham for a bus to Wolli Creek.
- T8 Airport & South Line trains to and from the City continue to stop at Wolli Creek.
Friday 8 to Sunday 10 September
- From 10.40pm Friday, all Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
- Daily from 8am to 8pm, extra trains run between Hurstville and Bondi Junction.
- Trackwork on the City Circle may also affect how you travel.
T5 Cumberland Line
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September
- Buses replace trains between Glenfield and Liverpool.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via the Airport, and between Liverpool and Olympic Park.
- You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.
T7 Olympic Park Line
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September
- Extra trains run between Olympic Park and Richmond or Liverpool.
T8 Airport & South Line
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September
- Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
- Macarthur trains run between Macarthur and Sydenham only. Change trains at Revesby if you are travelling to Airport stations.
- T4 Illawarra Line trains run between Sydenham and the City.

T9 Northern Line
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September
- Trains run between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, some to a changed timetable.

Blue Mountains Line
Monday 4 to Friday 8 September
- Buses replace trains between Lithgow and Mount Victoria, then continue to Blackheath.
- Trains run between Mount Victoria and Central, some to a changed timetable.
- Bathurst trains run between Bathurst and Mount Victoria or Central, to a changed timetable.
- There is no lift at Mount Victoria. Change at Blackheath for easy access.

South Coast Line
Monday 4 to Thursday 7 September
- Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am, trains will not stop at Wolli Creek, but make extra stops at Arncliffe and Sydenham.

- Change at Arncliffe or Sydenham for a bus to Wolli Creek.
Friday 8 to Sunday 10 September
- From 6.50pm Friday, buses replace trains between Bomaderry, Kiama and Wollongong.
- Buses do not run to the train timetable.
Southern Highlands Line
Saturday 9 September
- From 10am to 4pm, buses replace trains between Campbelltown and Moss Vale.
