Sydney & NSW - Trackwork Monday 7 August to Sunday 13 August 2023

    Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need. 

    • The biggest coordinated program of rail maintenance ever undertaken in Sydney has begun in response to te recent recommendations made by the expert panel conducting the Sydney Trains Review for restoring reliability to the network.
    • Maintenance work is being prioritized during the existing trackwork windows such as on weekends, weeknights, during school holidays or during weekday diversions when fewer people are catching trains. 
    • Train replacement buses may be impacted due to bus driver shortages. Consider catching local bus services where possible, or make alternative arrangements.

    T1 Western Line

    Wednesday 9 August  

    • From 10.50pm to 1.30am, most trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood. 

    Saturday 12 August   

    • From 6.30am to 10.30am, some trains make extra stops at Homebush, Croydon and Ashfield. 
    • From 5pm to 1am, Richmond trains run between Richmond and Olympic Park only, to a changed timetable. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City.

    T2 Inner West & Leppington Line

    Tuesday 8 to Thursday 10 August  

    • Nightly from 10pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield.
    • Wednesday from 11pm to 1.30am, buses also replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Ashfield.

    Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August   

    • Buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Regents Park.
    • Saturday from 6.20am to 10.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central.

    T3 Bankstown Line

    Tuesday 8 to Thursday 10 August  

    • Nightly from 10.15pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Liverpool and Villawood.

    Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August   

    • Extra trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park, stopping at all stations between Liverpool and Lidcombe.

    T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line

    Tuesday 8 to Thursday 10 August  

    • Nightly from 9.40pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland. 

    Saturday 12 August   

    • From 5.40am to 8am, trains run between Cronulla, Waterfall and the City Circle, and between Central and Bondi Junction only. Change trains at Central or Town Hall to continue your journey.

    T5 Cumberland Line

    Tuesday 8 to Thursday 10 August  

    • Nightly from 10pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield. 

    Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August   

    • Buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.

    T7 Olympic Park Line

    Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August   

    • Extra trains run between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, then continue to Schofields or Richmond.

    T9 Northern Line

    Saturday 12 August   

    • From 6.20am to 10.30am, some trains make an extra stop at Ashfield

    Hunter Line

    Monday 7 August    

    • Buses replace trains between Scone, Dungog and Newcastle Interchange.

    South Coast Line

    Saturday 12 August   

    • From 5.40am to 8am, trains run between South Coast Line stations and Central, platforms 1-12 only. Change at Central for trains towards Bondi Junction. 
    • From 7.30am to 11.30am, at Stanwell Park, all trains leave from platform 1.
    • From 12pm to 4pm, at Stanwell Park, all trains leave from platform 2. 

    Sunday 13 August   

    • From 7.30am to 11.30am, at Scarborough, Wombarra and Coledale, all trains leave from platform 1.
    • From 12pm to 4pm, at Coledale, Wombarra and Scarborough, all trains leave from platform 2.

    Southern Highlands Line

    Monday 7 August 

    • Buses replace the following trains:
      • 10:06, 11:06 and 12:06 Moss Vale to Campbelltown
      • 11:50, 12:53 and 14:19 Campbelltown to Moss Vale 

    Saturday 12 August  

    • From 10am to 4pm, buses replace trains between Campbelltown and Moss Vale.
