Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
City Circle
Monday 8 to Thursday 11 July
- Nightly from 10pm to 1.30am, trains will not run to Museum, St James or Circular Quay.
- T1 North Shore & Western, T2 Inner West and T9 Northern Line trains continue to run between Central, Town Hall and Wynyard.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs Line trains continue to run between Central, Town Hall, Martin Place and Kings Cross.
- The light rail runs between Central and Circular Quay.
- If you are travelling to:
- Circular Quay, change at Wynyard for the light rail or walk
- Museum or St James, change at Central or Town Hall for local buses or walk
- Other lines are also affected by this work. Please check details before you travel.
T2 Western Line
Monday 8 to Thursday 11 July
- Nightly from 10pm to 1.30am, some trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
- Wednesday from 10.50pm to 1.30am, some trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood.
Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July
- Richmond trains run between Richmond and Liverpool.
- Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
- Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am, trains run between Leppington and Central, platforms 1-12 via Granville, and will not stop at Ashfield.
- Inner West trains run between Homebush and North Sydney, some to a changed timetable, due to City Circle trackwork.
- Wednesday from 11pm to 1.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Ashfield.
- Trains run between Ashfield and North Sydney, some to a changed timetable.
- Leppington trains continue to run but will not stop at Ashfield.Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July
- Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and the City via Granville or Regents Park.
T3 Bankstown Line
Monday 8 to Thursday 11 July
- Nightly from 10pm to 1.30am, trains start and end at Central due to City Circle trackwork.
Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July
- Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham.
- Trains run between Leppington and the City via Regents Park, and between Sydenham and the City Circle, to a changed timetable.
- From 9.45pm Saturday to 6.20am Sunday, buses also replace trains between Sydenham and Central. You will need to change buses at Sydenham to continue your journey.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line
Monday 8 to Friday 12 July
- Buses replace trains between Waterfall and Sutherland.
- Trains run between Cronulla, Sutherland and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable.
Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July
- Buses replace trains between Waterfall and Sutherland.
- Trains run between Cronulla, Sutherland and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable.
- From 9.45pm Saturday to 6.20am Sunday, buses also replace trains between Sydenham and Central.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla, Sutherland and Sydenham only.
- If you are travelling between T4 Illawarra Line stations and the City, change trains at Wolli Creek to continue your journey, in both directions. T8 Airport Line trains run between Wolli Creek and the City Circle.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs Line trains run between Bondi Junction and Central only.
From Monday 8 to Sunday 14 July, trackwork between Waterfall and Sutherland may affect how you travel.
T8 Airport & South Line
Monday 8 to Thursday 11 July
- Nightly from 10pm to 1.30am, trains start and end at Central due to City Circle trackwork
T9 Northern Line
Monday 8 to Thursday 11 July
- Nightly from 10pm to 1.30am, some trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
Blue Mountains Line
Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July
- Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central.
Central Coast & Newcastle Line
Wednesday 10 July
- From 7.20pm to 2am, buses replace trains from Newcastle Interchange to Wyong.
- From 8pm to 3.30am, buses replace trains from Wyong to Newcastle Interchange.
- Buses towards Wyong may leave up to 60 minutes earlier than the normal train timetable.
Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July
- Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central.
Saturday 13 July
- From 6am to 11am, at Cowan, all trains leave from platform 2.
Sunday 14 July
- From 6am to 11am, at Cowan, all trains leave from platform 1.
Hunter Line
Ongoing
- Trains continue to be affected by an ongoing police operation at various Hunter Line locations.
South Coast Line
From Monday 8 to Sunday 14 July, trackwork on parts of the South Coast Line may affect how you travel.
Monday 8 to Friday 12 July
- Buses replace trains between Thirroul and Sutherland.
- During the morning and afternoon peak periods, limited direct trains run between South Coast Line stations and Bondi Junction, in the peak direction only, to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
- At all other times, express buses run between Wollongong, North Wollongong and Sutherland.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and Thirroul, and T4 Illawarra trains run between Sutherland and Bondi Junction.
Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July
- Buses replace trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Sutherland.
- You may need to change buses to continue your journey.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, and T4 Illawarra trains run between Sutherland and Bondi Junction.
- From 9.50pm Saturday to 6am Sunday, buses also replace trains between Sydenham and Central.
