Sydney & NSW - Trackwork Monday 10 to Sunday 16 June 2024

    Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need. 

    • The biggest coordinated program of rail maintenance ever undertaken in Sydney has begun in response to te recent recommendations made by the expert panel conducting the Sydney Trains Review for restoring reliability to the network.
    • Maintenance work is being prioritized during the existing trackwork windows such as on weekends, weeknights, during school holidays or during weekday diversions when fewer people are catching trains. 
    • Train replacement buses may be impacted due to bus driver shortages. Consider catching local bus services where possible, or make alternative arrangements.

    Metro

    Monday 10 June  

    • Trackwork on the T9 Northern Line may affect how you travel.
    • Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Strathfield. Change at Chatswood for T1 North Shore Line trains to the City.

    Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June   

    • Buses replace metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood.

    City Circle

    Sunday 16 June     

    • Trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Town Hall.
    • Some trains may start or end at Central, run to a changed timetable or leave from different platforms.
    • You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
    • The light rail runs in both directions between Circular Quay, Wynyard, Town Hall and Central.

    T1 North Shore Line

    Monday 10 June  

    • Buses replace trains between Berowra and Hornsby.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and the City.
    • Trackwork on the T9 Northern and Central Coast & Newcastle lines may also affect how you travel. 

    Tuesday 11 to Thursday 13 June      

    • Nightly from 9.20pm to 3.50am, buses replace Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains between Hornsby and Gosford.
    • T1 North Shore Line trains continue to run between Hornsby and Berowra.

    T1 Western Line

    Monday 10 June   

    • Trains may run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
    • Richmond trains run between Richmond and Olympic Park, making extra stops at Granville and Auburn.
    • Change trains to continue your journey towards the City.

    Wednesday 12 June 

    • From 10.50pm to 1.30am, most trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood.

    T2 Inner West & Leppington Line

    Monday 10 June

    • Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
    • Inner West trains run between Homebush and T1 North Shore Line stations.
    • You may need to change trains to continue your journey.

    Wednesday 12 June 

    • Wednesday from 11pm to 1.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Ashfield.
    • Trains run between Ashfield and the City Circle, some to a changed timetable.
    • Leppington trains continue to run but will not stop at Ashfield.
    • Most T1 Western Line trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood. 

    Saturday 15 June   

    • From 6.30am to 10.30am, Leppington trains will not stop at Ashfield.
    •  T9 Northern Line trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.

    T3 Bankstown Line

    Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June   

    • Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham.
    • Trains run between Liverpool and Lidcombe via Regents Park. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey.
    • Saturday, trains run between Sydenham and the City Circle, to a changed timetable.
    • Sunday, some T4 Illawarra Line trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.

    T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line

    Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June   

    • Buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland.
    • Trains run between Waterfall and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable.
    • Saturday from 1.30am to 5.30am, from 11.30pm to 3am, and Sunday from 11.30pm to 3am, buses also replace some trains between Waterfall and Sutherland.
    • Sunday, some trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.

    T5 Cumberland Line

    Monday 10 June

    • Some early morning trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Olympic Park only.
    • You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.

    T8 Airport & South Line

    Monday 10 June

    • Some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. More>>

    Thursday 13 June

    • From 10.10pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Macarthur and Glenfield.
    • Trains run to the normal timetable between Glenfield and the City.

    Saturday 15 June   

    • From 9am to 3pm, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Revesby and Turrella. 

    Sunday 16 June   

    • Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
    • Most Macarthur trains run between Macarthur and the City via Sydenham. Change trains at Revesby if they are travelling to Airport stations.
    • From 8.40am to 3pm, buses replace the all-stations trains between Wolli Creek and Revesby.
    • Express trains continue to run but will not stop at stations between Padstow and Turrella.

    T9 Northern Line

    Monday 10 June

    • Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Strathfield.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Strathfield and the City.
    • From Epping you can also catch the metro to Chatswood then change for a T1 North Shore Line train to the City.

    Blue Mountains Line

    Monday 10 June

    • Most trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Change trains at Blacktown to continue your journey. 
    • Bathurst trains continue to run between Bathurst and Strathfield.

    Central Coast & Newcastle Line

    Monday 10 June  

    • Buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Hornsby.
    • T1 North Shore Line trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and the City.
    • Buses also replace trains on the Hunter and T9 Northern lines.

    Tuesday 11 to Thursday 13 June      

    • Nightly from 9.20pm to 3.50am, buses replace trains between Gosford and Hornsby.
    • Trains run between Newcastle Interchange and Gosford, and between Hornsby and Central, some to a changed timetable.

    Hunter Line

    Monday 10 June  

    • Buses replace trains between Scone, Dungog and Newcastle Interchange.
    • Buses also replace trains on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line.

    South Coast Line

    Saturday 15 June  

    • From 7.30am to 11.30am, at Stanwell Park, all trains leave from platform 1. 

    Saturday 15 June  

    • From 12pm to 4pm, at Stanwell Park, all trains leave from platform 2. 

    Saturday 15 June  

    • From 11.50pm to 3am, buses replace some trains from Waterfall to Sutherland.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and Waterfall, and T4 trains run between Sutherland and Bondi Junction. 

    Sunday 16 June  

    • From 7.30am to 11.30am, at Scarborough, Wombarra and Coledale, all trains leave from platform 1.

    Sunday 16 June  

    • From 12pm to 4pm, at Coledale, Wombarra and Scarborough, all trains leave from platform 2.

    Sunday 16 June  

    • From 11.50pm to 3am, buses replace trains between Thirroul and Sutherland.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and Thirroul, and T4 trains run between Sutherland and Bondi Junction

    Southern Highlands Line

    Monday 10 June  

    • Trains run between Southern Highlands Line stations and Campbelltown only.
    • Change trains at Campbelltown to continue your journey.
