Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- The biggest coordinated program of rail maintenance ever undertaken in Sydney has begun in response to te recent recommendations made by the expert panel conducting the Sydney Trains Review for restoring reliability to the network.
- Maintenance work is being prioritized during the existing trackwork windows such as on weekends, weeknights, during school holidays or during weekday diversions when fewer people are catching trains.
- Train replacement buses may be impacted due to bus driver shortages. Consider catching local bus services where possible, or make alternative arrangements.
Metro
Monday 12 to Thursday 15 February
- Nightly from 9.50pm, trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line may affect how you travel.
- If you are travelling to the City change at Epping, not Chatswood, for trains to Central.
Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 February
- Nightly from 10pm, metro runs between Tallawong and Macquarie Park only.
- Buses run between Macquarie University and Chatswood.
Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 February
- Buses replace metro between Tallawong and Chatswood.
T1 North Shore Line
Monday 12 to Thursday 15 February
- Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Hornsby and Wynyard.
- Trains run between Berowra and Hornsby, some to a changed timetable.
T1 Western Line
Monday 12 to Thursday 15 February
- Nightly from 9.50pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Emu Plains and Penrith.
- Trains run between Western Line stations and Central, platforms 1-12 only.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Monday 12 to Thursday 15 February
- Nightly from 10pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Fairfield and the City via Granville.

- Extra trains run between Ashfield and the City, continuing to Kingsgrove via the Airport.

- From 5.30am to 9.40am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
- Leppington trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Regents Park.

- Buses towards Wollongong may leave stations up to 15 minutes earlier than the normal train timetable.
Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 February
- Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between South Coast Line stations and Waterfall only. Change trains at Waterfall to continue your journey.
- T4 Illawarra Line trains run between Waterfall and Hurstville. Buses replace all trains between Hurstville and Central.
Southern Highlands Line

- From 4.40am to 4pm, buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Campbelltown.
