Sydney & NSW - Trackwork Tuesday 14 June to Sunday 19 June 2022

    Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need. 

    • Consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking,cycling and driving where possible as there will be limited space on replacement buses.
    • Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, ride share and hire cars across NSW.

    Metro

    Sunday 19 June

    • From 10pm until 1.30am, buses replace metro between Tallawong and Chatswood.
    • Buses also replace T1 North Shore Line trains. If you are travelling to the City change at Epping, not Chatswood, for a direct train via the T9 Northern Line.

    City Circle

    Access to Circular Quay station will change during Vivid Sydney due to large crowds in the precinct.
    Trains will not drop off passengers at Circular Quay Station from 6pm to 11pm, on:

    • Saturday 18 June

    Use Wynyard, Martin Place or St James stations instead on these nights and continue on foot towards Circular Quay.

    T1 North Shore Line

    Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June

    • From 11.50pm Saturday, buses replace trains between Gordon and North Sydney or Wynyard.
    • Buses between Gordon and Chatswood run to and from Wynyard. Buses between Chatswood and Waverton run to and from North Sydney.

    T1 Western Line

    Wednesday 15 June

    • From 11pm until 1.30am, most trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood.

    Sunday 19 June

    • From 12.45am until 9.30am, buses replace trains between Parramatta and Strathfield.

    T2 Inner West & Leppington Line

    Wednesday 15 June

    • From 11pm until 1.30am, buses replace the all-stations Homebush trains between Strathfield and Ashfield.

    Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June

    • Trains run between Leppington and the City via Granville, to a reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
    • Trains also run between Leppington and the City via Regents Park, stopping all stations between Cabramatta and Lidcombe, every 30 minutes.
    • Sunday from 12.45am until 9.30am, buses replace trains between Merrylands and Strathfield.

    T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line

    Sunday 19 June

    • From 5.50am until 8am, trains run between Waterfall or Cronulla and the City Circle.
    • Trains run between Bondi Junction and Central only.

    T5 Cumberland Line

    Saturday 18 to Sunday 19 June

    • From 11.50pm Saturday until 9.30am Sunday, extra trains run between Leppington and Richmond or Penrith.

    T7 Olympic Park Line

    Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June

    • Buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Lidcombe.
    • On Sunday from 12.45am until 9.30am, buses also replace trains between Parramatta or Merrylands and Strathfield.

    T9 Northern Line

    Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June

    • From 11.50pm Saturday, trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra or Hornsby and North Sydney via Strathfield.

    Blue Mountains Line

    Sunday 19 June

    • From 6.10am until 9.20am, trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only.
    • Trains from Blacktown towards Blue Mountains Line stations leave 28 minutes later than normal. 

    Central Coast & Newcastle Line

    Tuesday 14 to Thursday 16 June

    • Nightly from 8.45pm until 1.45am, buses replace trains from Newcastle Interchange to Wyong.
    • Buses may leave from stations Newcastle Interchange towards Wyong up to 60 minutes earlier than the normal train timetable.
    • Nightly from 9.50pm until 3.40am, buses replace trains from Wyong to Newcastle Interchange.

    Hunter Line

    Tuesday 14 to Thursday 16 June

    • Nightly from 11pm until 1.20am, trains may run up to 20 minutes later than normal due to trackwork on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line. 

    Thursday 16 June

    • Buses replace the following trains between Maitland and Muswellbrook:
      – 08:14 Newcastle Interchange to Muswellbrook
      – 10:09 Muswellbrook to Newcastle Interchange.

    South Coast Line

    Friday 17 to Sunday 19 June

    • From 9.50pm Friday, buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Wollongong.
    • On Sunday from 5.50am until 8am, trains run between Wollongong and the City Circle.
