Sydney & NSW - Trackwork Monday 19 to Sunday 25 September

    Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need. 

    • Consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking, cycling and driving where possible as there will be limited space on replacement buses.
    • Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, ride share and hire cars across NSW.

    Metro

    Sunday 25 September

    • Buses replace metro between Tallawong and Chatswood.

    City Circle

    Sunday 25 September

    • From 8.50am to 9.20am, trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Museum.
    • Some trains start or end at Central. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. 

    T1 North Shore Line

    Monday 19 to Thursday 22 September

    • Nightly from 10.10pm until 1.30am, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Central and Homebush. 

    Sunday 25 September

    • From 8.40am to 9.10am, trains run between North Shore Line stations and North Sydney only.
    • To continue your journey towards the City, from North Sydney you can catch bus routes 320, 252 or 115.

    T1 Western Line

    Monday 19 to Thursday 22 September

    • Nightly from 10.10pm until 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable and make extra stops at stations between Homebush and Macdonaldtown. 

    Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September

    • Richmond trains run between Richmond and Olympic Park only. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City.

    Sunday 25 September

    • From 8.50am until 9.20am, Penrith trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12.

    T2 Inner West & Leppington Line

    Monday 19 to Thursday 22 September

    • Nightly from 10.10pm until 1.30am, Homebush trains will not run.
    • Leppington, T1 Western and T9 Northern Line trains run to a changed timetable and make extra stops at stations between Homebush and Macdonaldtown. 

    Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September

    • Buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Regents Park, stopping all-stations between Cabramatta and Lidcombe. 

    T3 Bankstown Line

    Tuesday 20 to Thursday 22 September

    • Nightly from 9.40pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Liverpool or Lidcombe and Bankstown.
    • On Wednesday and Thursday morning the last two trains will be replaced by buses from Sydenham to Lidcombe or Liverpool, in that direction only. 

    Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September

    • Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham.
    • Trains run between Leppington and the City via Regents Park, stopping at all stations between Liverpool and Lidcombe. 

    Saturday 24 September to Sunday 9 October 2022

    • Parts of the T3 Bankstown Line, including some stations, will be closed.
    • Frequent bus services will replace trains over this two-week period with additional buses during peak times, and extra train services running on the T8 Airport & South Line.

    T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line,

    Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September

    • Buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla, Waterfall and North Sydney or the City Circle. Change at Central or Town Hall for buses towards Bondi Junction. 

    T5 Cumberland Line

    Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September

    • Buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond or Schofields and Olympic Park, and between Leppington and the City via Regents Park. Change at Lidcombe for trains towards Leppington or Richmond.

    T7 Olympic Park Line

    Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September

    • Extra trains run between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, then continue to Schofields or Richmond.

    T8 Airport & South Line

    Sunday 25 September

    • From 9am until 9.30am, trains start and end at Central, platform 23.

    T9 Northern Line

    Monday 19 to Thursday 22 September

    • Nightly from 10.10pm until 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable and make extra stops at stations between Strathfield and Macdonaldtown. 

    Sunday 25 September

    • From 8.50am until 9.20am, trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12.
    • T1 North Shore Line trains start from North Sydney. If you are travelling to T1 North Shore Line stations change at Central for the light rail or a City Circle.

    Blue Mountains Line

    Wednesday 21 September

    • The 15:57 Central to Bathurst service will leave Central at 15:05, and continue to run up to 52 minutes earlier than the normal timetable towards Bathurst.

    Central Coast & Newcastle Line

    Monday 19 to Thursday 22 September

    • Nightly from 8.45pm until 1.45am, buses replace trains from Newcastle Interchange to Wyong.
    • Buses towards Wyong may leave up to 65 minutes earlier than the normal train timetable.
    • Nightly from 9.50pm until 3.40am, buses replace trains from Wyong to Newcastle Interchange.

    Hunter Line

    Monday 19 to Thursday 22 September

    • Nightly from 11.10pm until 1am, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line. 

    Thursday 22 September

    • Buses replace the following trains between Maitland and Muswellbrook:
      – 08:14 Newcastle Interchange to Muswellbrook
      – 10:09 Muswellbrook to Newcastle Interchange.

    South Coast Line

    Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September

    • Buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and the City Circle, and between Port Kembla and Wollongong only. Change at Central or Town Hall for buses towards Bondi Junction.
