Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need.
- Consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking, cycling and driving where possible as there will be limited space on replacement buses.
- It is strongly recommended to wear a face mask in indoor public spaces and when you can’t physically distance from others.
Metro
Monday 26 to Thursday 29 September
- Nightly from 9.10pm until 1.30am, no trackwork on the metro but trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line may affect how you travel.
- If you are travelling to the City change at Epping, not Chatswood, for a direct train to Central via the T9 Northern Line.
Monday 3 to Friday 7 October
- Metro runs between Tallawong and North Ryde only.
- Buses run between Macquarie University and Chatswood:
-Change at Macquarie University for replacement buses to Chatswood
-Remain on the metro for Macquarie Park and North Ryde.
City Circle
Monday 3 October
- From 9.40pm until 1.30am, trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Town Hall.
- Some City Circle trains run to a changed timetable and leave from different platforms.
T1 North Shore Line
Monday 26 to Thursday 29 September
- Nightly from 9.10pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains from Hornsby to Central.
- Nightly from 9.30pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains from Central to Hornsby.
Wednesday 28 September
- From 12.20am until 2.30am, buses replace trains from Hornsby to Berowra.
Monday 3 to Friday 7 October
- Until 10.30pm Friday, buses replace trains between Gordon and North Sydney.
- From 10.30pm Friday, buses also replace trains between North Sydney and Wynyard.
T1 Western Line
Monday 26 to Thursday 29 September
- Nightly from 9.30pm until 1.30am, trains run between Penrith or Richmond and Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line.
Saturday 1 October
- From 5.50am until 8.45am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Blacktown.
- From 8.45am until 11am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Schofields.
Monday 3 to Friday 7 October
- Until 10.30pm Friday, trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith or Richmond and North Sydney only. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
- Wednesday from 11pm until 1.30am, most trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood.
T2 Inner West & Leppington Line
Monday 26 to Friday 30 September
- Some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
- Each morning and afternoon some trains run between Leppington and the City via Regents Park.
Saturday 1 to Monday 3 October
- Homebush trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park, stopping at all stations between Liverpool and Lidcombe, then running to the normal timetable between Homebush and the City.
- Saturday from 6.30am until 10.30am, trains run between Homebush and the City only.
T3 Bankstown Line
Monday 26 to Friday 30 September
- Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham.
- Trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park, stopping all stations to Lidcombe, then limited stops to the City Circle.
Saturday 1 to Monday 3 October
- Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham.
- Saturday from 6.30am until 10.30am, trains run between Liverpool and Lidcombe only. Change at Lidcombe to continue your journey.
T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line,
Monday 26 to Thursday 29 September
- Nightly from 9.50pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland.
- Trains run to a changed timetable between Waterfall, Sutherland and Bondi Junction.
Saturday 1 October
- From 9.30pm until 2.30am, buses replace trains between Waterfall and Hurstville.
- From 11.55pm until 2.30am, buses also replace trains between Cronulla and Hurstville.
T5 Cumberland Line
Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 September
- Nightly from 11.50pm until 1.30am, trains may run to a changed timetable between Richmond and Granville, and between Granville and Leppington only.
- You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.
Saturday 1 October
- From 5.50am until 8.45am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Blacktown.
- From 8.45am until 11am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Schofields.
T8 Airport & South Line
Monday 26 to Friday 30 September
- Each morning and afternoon extra trains run between Revesby and the City via Sydenham.
T9 Northern Line
Monday 26 to Thursday 29 September
- Nightly from 9.40pm until 1.30am, trains run between Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, due to trackwork on the T1 North Shore Line.
Saturday 1 October
- From 6.30am until 10.30am, some trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
Monday 3 to Friday 7 October
- Until 10.30pm Friday, trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and Central or North Sydney only.
- Buses replace T1 North Shore Line trains between North Sydney and Gordon.
Central Coast & Newcastle Line
Wednesday 28 September
- From 12.20am until 3.30am, buses replace trains from Hornsby to Gosford.
- Trains run from Central to Hornsby, and from Gosford to Newcastle Interchange, some to a changed timetable.
Hunter Line
Tuesday 27 September
- Buses replace the following trains between Maitland and Muswellbrook:
– 08:14 Newcastle Interchange to Muswellbrook
– 10:09 Muswellbrook to Newcastle Interchange.
South Coast Line
Friday 30 September to Monday 3 October
- From 2.30pm Friday until 12.40am Saturday, buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Dapto.
- From 12.40am Saturday until 2am Monday, buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Wollongong.
