Sydney & NSW - Trackwork Monday 27 June to Sunday 3 July

    Here’s the update on scheduled trackwork affecting services. Plan your trip and work out any extra travel time you need. 

    • From Tuesday 28 June, significant delays are expected on Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink services all week due to planned industrial action. Trains will run to a reduced timetable and some services will be cancelled. Consider using alternative transport and allow extra travel time. The trackwork details mentioned below may also change.
    • Consider other travel options including travelling off peak, walking,cycling and driving where possible as there will be limited space on replacement buses.
    • Face masks are mandatory on public transport, including taxis, ride share and hire cars across NSW.

    Metro

    Monday 27 to Wednesday 29 June

    • Nightly from 10pm until 1.30am, buses replace metro between Tallawong and Chatswood.
    • Monday and Tuesday, trackwork on the T9 Northern Line may also affect how you travel. 

    Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July

    • Buses replace metro between Tallawong and Chatswood.

    City Circle

    Monday 27 June

    • From 9.50pm until 1.30am, some trains start or end at Central. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
    • Trains on the City Circle run in one direction only, to a changed timetable and may leave from different platforms:
      • From 9.50pm until 11.55pm, trains run from Central first stop Museum.
      • From 11.55pm until 1.30am, trains run from Central first stop Town Hall.
    • The light rail continues to run between Circular Quay, Wynyard, Town Hall and Central. 

    Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 June

    • Nightly from 9.30pm until 1.30am, trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Town Hall.
    • Some City Circle trains run to a changed timetable and leave from different platforms. 

    T2 Inner West & Leppington Line

    Monday 27 June

    • From 9.50pm until 1.30am, City Circle trains run in one direction only. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. 

    Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 June

    • Nightly from 9.30pm until 1.30am, some trains from the City start at Central. You may need to change trains at Central to continue your journey.

    Tuesday 28 June

    • From 9.40pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Fairfield and the City via Granville. 

    Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July

    • Trains run between Leppington and the City via Granville, to a reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
    • Trains also run between Leppington and the City via Regents Park, stopping all stations between Liverpool and Lidcombe, every 30 minutes.

    T3 Bankstown Line

    Tuesday 28 June

    • From 9.40pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Liverpool and Villawood.
    • Trains run between Villawood and the City, some to a changed timetable. 

    Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July

    • Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham.
    • Trains run between Leppington and the City via Regents Park, stopping at all stations between Liverpool and Lidcombe.
    • On Saturday from 6.30am until 10.30am, trains run between Liverpool and Lidcombe only, via Regents Park. Change at Lidcombe to continue your journey.

    T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line

    Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July

    • Buses replace trains between Cronulla, Waterfall and Central. Some buses start and end at Sydenham.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Bondi Junction and Central, and between Sydenham and the City Circle.

    T5 Cumberland Line

    Tuesday 28 June

    • From 9.40pm until 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Fairfield and Richmond. 

    Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July

    • Some trains run to a changed timetable.
    • Early morning and late-night trains will not run. Change at Granville to continue your journey.

    T8 Airport & South Line

    Monday 27 June

    • From 9.50pm until 1.30am, trains start or end at Central. Change trains at Central to continue your journey. 

    Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 June

    • Nightly from 9.30pm until 1.30am, trains to the City end at Central. Change at Central to continue your journey.
    • Trains from the City run from all City Circle stations. 

    Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July

    • Trackwork on the T4 Illawarra and South Coast lines may affect how you travel.
    • If you are travelling to:
      –  Tempe, Arncliffe, Banksia, Rockdale, Kogarah, Carlton or Allawah change at Wolli Creek for a bus.
      –  all other T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra or South Coast Line stations please change at Central, not Wolli Creek.

    T9 Northern Line

    Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 June

    • Nightly from 10.50pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Epping and Strathfield.
    • Trains run between Hornsby and Epping, and between Strathfield and the City, to a changed timetable.

    Central Coast & Newcastle Line

    Monday 27 June

    • Trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central. 

    Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 June

    • Nightly from 11pm until 3am, trains run to a changed timetable via the T1 North Shore Line, making extra stops at Gordon, Chatswood, then all stations to Central.
    • Buses run between Strathfield, Epping and Hornsby to connect with Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains. 

    Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 June

    • Nightly from 10.30pm until 11pm, at Hawkesbury River and Cowan, trains towards Central leave from platform 2, not platform 1.

    Hunter Line

    Thursday 30 June

    • Buses replace the following trains between Maitland and Muswellbrook:
      – 08:14 Newcastle Interchange to Muswellbrook
      – 10:09 Muswellbrook to Newcastle Interchange
    • Trains run to the normal timetable between Newcastle Interchange and Maitland.

    South Coast Line

    Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July

    • Buses replace trains between Dapto and Central, and between Port Kembla and Wollongong.
    • Trains run to a changed timetable between Bomaderry and Kiama, and between Kiama and Dapto only.
